Brussels Livestock report
Fed steers sell on strong, active trade
Total receipts for Brussels
Livestock for the week ending April
29 were 4,482 head of cattle, 904
lambs and goats. On Tuesday the fed
steers and heifers sold on a strong
active trade. Choice steers and
heifers sold $87 to $92 with sales to
$104.75. Second-cut steers and
heifers sold $82 to $86. The cows
traded at steady prices. On Thursday
the veal sold on a strong active trade
while the lambs traded at prices
steady to last week. On Friday all
weights and classes of stockers sold
on a strong active trade.
There were 698 steers on offer.
Don McAlpine, Ailsa Craig, con
signed one black steer weighing
1,510 lbs. which sold for $104.75.
His overall offering of seventy-six
steers averaged 1,530 lbs. selling for
an average price of $90.58. Twenty-
five steers consigned by Chad
Fischer. Brussels, averaged 1.431
lbs. which sold for an average price
of $94.47 with his top five limousin
steers averaging 1,491 lbs. selling
for $98.50. Darren Johnston,
Brussels, consigned two black steers
averaging 1,345 lbs. which sold for
an average price of $95.42 with sales
to $97.75.

Ten-year-old Grayson Van Camp of the Belgrave area
enjoys the ham and scalloped potato supper held April 27
at the Belgrave Community Centre. The proceeds from the
