Agriculture Brussels Livestock report Fed steers sell on strong, active trade Total receipts for Brussels Livestock for the week ending April 29 were 4,482 head of cattle, 904 lambs and goats. On Tuesday the fed steers and heifers sold on a strong active trade. Choice steers and heifers sold $87 to $92 with sales to $104.75. Second-cut steers and heifers sold $82 to $86. The cows traded at steady prices. On Thursday the veal sold on a strong active trade while the lambs traded at prices steady to last week. On Friday all weights and classes of stockers sold on a strong active trade. There were 698 steers on offer. Don McAlpine, Ailsa Craig, con­ signed one black steer weighing 1,510 lbs. which sold for $104.75. His overall offering of seventy-six steers averaged 1,530 lbs. selling for an average price of $90.58. Twenty- five steers consigned by Chad Fischer. Brussels, averaged 1.431 lbs. which sold for an average price of $94.47 with his top five limousin steers averaging 1,491 lbs. selling for $98.50. Darren Johnston, Brussels, consigned two black steers averaging 1,345 lbs. which sold for an average price of $95.42 with sales to $97.75. Two limousin steers consigned by Ron Dietrich, Mildmay, averaged 1,220 lbs. which sold for $96.75. Emerson L. Martin, Linwood, con­ signed eight steers averaging 1,518 lbs. which sold for an average price of $93.89 with his top limousin steer weighing 1,530 lbs. selling for $97.25. One limousin steer con­ signed by Weigand Farms, Dashwood, weighed 1,195 lbs. which sold for $95.75. Their overall offering of two steers averaged 1,260 lbs. selling for an average price of $92.60. His overall offering of twenty-one steers aver­ aged 1,494 lbs. selling for an aver­ age price of $92.37. Fifteen steers consigned by Owen F. Bauman, Wellesley, averaged 1,438 lbs. which sold for an average price of $89.75 with his top two limousin steers averaging 1,393 lbs. selling for an average price of $95.
