The white gift story was told by Gail Clarkson. The white gifts will be taken to the Huron County Christmas Bureau. Gail's reflection was entitled Unpacking Guatemala - Gifts of Peace. _ The offering was collected by Lorne Glanville and Murray Dennis. The scripture reader was Marion Godkin. Rheo Thompson chocolates are still available from the Sunday school. Annual reports are due to Monique Baan by Dec. 24. The Christmas Eve service is at Walton United Church at 7:30 p.m. A new secretary for Walton UCW is still needed. The choral concert at Brussels United Church was well attended and thanks to all the members of all choirs who sang. Don't forget those grocery tapes to be saved for the church. Christmas shopping can really add up and so will those tapes if given to the church. Tapes from Brussels Foodland, Seaforth Foodland and Zehrs are gratefully accepted and can be left in the box in the kitchen. White ift service at Duff's United It was quite a week of weather so everyone in Walton must have stayed home except the ladies of the United Church Women and their guests. Thirty-six in all, enjoyed a catered meal by Beth Earl on Wednesday evening for the Christmas meeting. There were numerous tally prizes. On Dec. 18 there will be a Christmas euchre at 8 p.m. Ladies are asked to bring lunch. Classified advertisements published in The Citizen are now available on our website at www.northhuron.on.ca The entertainment was provided by Patty Banks, Joyce Marcuccio and Judy Lee. They portrayed I'm Mary With My Sister Carol and My Other Sister Carol, and how to cook Mama's Christmas cake. It was an hilarious demonstration of messy cooks and what not to do. There were hints, such as using egg shells to kill worms. The ladies received a rousing round of applause and I hear through the grapevine, they have been asked to take the show on the road. Last week was hunting season again. The only group I heard about was Paul Kirkby and friends who were shutout and came home without getting any deer. They still enjoyed themselves and had a great time visiting Paul's mom Jeanne. Fire destroyed the barn at John Driscoll's on Friday evening. Luckily most of the cattle had been shipped in previous weeks. Welcome' home to Marjorie Huether after a trip to Florida. Funeral services for Jim Mann were held Thursday in Atwood with lunch being held at Duff's United Church, Walton. Our sympathy to his wife Mary and family.
