Atom Dogs hockey has share of ups and downs
The Blyth Bulldogs Atom Rep
team had its share of ups and downs
this weekend in play in Monkton.
The weekend started with an 11-1
win over Elora and a 7-1 loss to
Cayuga on Saturday, only for the
Bulldogs to bounce back and beat
111111111111111111111111111111 t.
Cayuga on Sunday by a score of
2-1.
The Bulldogs padded their
statistics against Elora, with Dustin
Pennington scoring four goals and
one assist and Spencer Stevenson
pitching in with a hattrick and an
assist.
Other scorers against Elora were
Dylan Bromley with two goals and
one assist, Trystan Weber with one
goal and three assists and Matt
VanWyk with a goal.
Josh VanSoest also contributed
three assists to the effort.
In Blyth's loss to Cayuga,
Stevenson scored Blyth's only goal,
unassisted, in the first period.
Stevenson continued to sting
Cayuga in their second meeting of
the weekend, scoring both goals to
bury the opposition. The only assist
on the scoresheet was VanWyk.
In net for Blyth against their wins
against Cayuga and Elora was
Dalton Carey and in goal for their
loss to Cayuga was Dustin
Treble.
McNichol fights off 56 shots
Brussels • Atom Reps played
against Minto.
In the first period Brody TenPas
gave Brussels its lead with Mitchell
• Kellington skating in to bulge the
twine, after Lexi Smith set up the
play.
Minto tied it up in second
then took the lead in the third.
Brussels put another point on
the board though, when TenPas
with help from Kellington and
Smith scored.
Matt McNichol played a super
game in net stopping over 56 shots
and only letting in six.
In a game against Milverton
Brussels held a 2-2 tie for the first
and most of the second period.
Brock McLean and Ccilton Hastings
assisted.
Brussels ran out of steam and
Milverton came out on top, though
Brussels did manage one more goal
off the stick of McLean assisted by
Anthony Vader.
The final result was a solid 7-3
victory for Milverton.
McNichol had another superb
game stopping lots of shots.

Santa stops by Walton
Although Santa had a pretty busy schedule around the area
this weekend, he had time to stop in to see the kids and give
them candy canes at Walton Hall after the concert. (Shawn

Wheeler
named
ECAC goalie
of the week
Colgate University women's
hockey player Brook Wheeler of
Brussels was named the ECAC
hockey league co-goaltender of the
week for the week ending Dec. 3.
Harvard's Christina Kessler shares
the honour.
Wheeler backstopped Colgate to a
series sweep with wins over Union
and Rensselaer. She made 25 saves
in Colgate's 8-0 shutout on Friday
against the Dutchwomen, and
stopped 14 shots in a 1-0 shutout of
the Engineers on Saturday.
It was the first time the Raiders
have swept on the road since
February, 2005 and the first time
they've recorded two shutouts in a
weekend since January 2002.
The wins were Colgate's first
blankings of the season, and gave
Wheeler her seventh and eighth
career shutouts. She sports a perfect
5-0 record in conference play with a
.918 save percentage and a 2.56
goals against average versus league
opponents.
Tuesday, Nov. 28 Blyth Novices
travelled to Wingham.
The Dogs came out looking good,
but Wingham slipped one past the
netminder.
Blyth's first goal was scored by
Brendan Howson assisted by
Brandon Marshall. By this time
Winghan was up by a couple of
goals.
Hunter Dale was heading down
the ice towards the net and was
pulled down by a Wingham
player.
This gave Dale a penalty shot
which he• scored giving Blyth a
score of two.
The next goal was also scored—
by Dale assisted by Mar-
shall.
Stopping many amazing shots in
net was Franklin Marshall.
The final score was 5-3 for
Wingham, making this a better game
than the last showing Blyth had
against that team.
PRODUCT ADVISORY
SEASONAL LED LIGHT CALL BACK
On November 24th, Ontario's Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) in
cooperation with CSA International issued a Product Safety Alert
and are working with Local Distribution Companies (LDC), and
Greenlite Lighting Corporation following reports of concerns
regarding the GREENLITE - 36-Bulb Seasonal "LED" Light
Strings. This is the same brand of LEDs that Hydro One recently
donated to a number of communities in support of local seasonal
light exchange programs. The lights were offered to Huron East
residents on November 24th, 2006.
According to the ESA and the CSA, to date, there have been no
reports of injury or property damage involving this product.
However, out of concern for the safety of communities and our
customers, Hydro One has decided to call back these lights and is
warning communities and customers not to install, use or plug-in
these lights.
For Huron East residents who received Greenlite LEDs with a Hydro
One logo at a recent local event, they may return their lights to the
municipal office at any time from December 8th to December 20th,
2006 and receive a gift card of equivalent or higher value.
Hydro One is disappointed to have to call back these lights and
regrets any inconvenience this call back may present to the people
and communities who made the effort to participate in the impor-
tant conservation initiative.
