It was a just a normal week at the
Branch with Cadets meeting on
Monday and Tuesday evening. New
members are always welcome.
The pipe band met Thursday
evening for practice. New members
are always welcome. Contact
Donald Martin.
Christmas decorating in the
upstairs hall was done on Thursday
evening by Nanci Ducharme and
Ross and Marg Bennett.
The Thursday night darts had eight
participating.
The Friday night supper of roast
beef was enjoyed by a good crowd.
This week is sausage and sauerkraut.
There were 16 1/2 tables of euchre
players on Saturday afternoon. A
high score of 76 by Lloyd and
Lillian Appleby took first place. The
second-place team of Charlie and
Millie Johnston scored 72 points and
close -behind with 70 points were
Delores Howatt and Dorothy Dalton.
The not-so-lucky players, scoring
only 44 points, were Georgina and
Edith.
The lone hand prizes were won by
Jo-Ann McDonald and John Subject.
The Sunday night dance saw a
smaller crowd of just over 80
enjoying the music of the Georgian
Bay Islanders.
Comrades under the weather this
week are Max Oldfield and Lyle
Brothers. We hope they are both
feeling better and are out and about
again real soon.
There were quite a few Comrades
taking part in singles darts held in
Exeter on Saturday. Attending the
Zone darts were Ken Bird, John
Harrison, Ron Schmidt, Bob
Richardson, and Norm Wylie.
They had a good day with two
comrades advancing to District Dart
competition later. Going on are Ron
and Norm.
The 75th anniversary banquet is
being held on Saturday. If wanting
tickets, contact the Branch 519-887-
6562 or Jo-Ann at 519-887-6570 as
soon as possible.
The response has been poor and
with the Dominion President of the
Royal Canadian Legion attending,
we would like to see a decent turnout
of Branch members. Dinner is at 7
p,m. and we hope the formal part of
the evening will be over by 9 p.m.
Please consider supporting this
event by attending. Your presence
would be appreciated.
Comrades will be receiving
newsletters this week. The info sheet
and questionnaire on wheelchair
accessibility is enclosed.
Return them to the Branch as soon
as possible, so the next step can be
considered.
