Now, she's coming to Blyth Memorial Hall thanks to the Huron United Way. Jazzabel is a musical story of two jazz divas, one that found success and one that did not. Their personal stories will be shared through the music of the magical era of the 1930s and 40s. "Jazzabel's about dreams and how people pursue them," Pelley says. "And it's about what the definition of success in life is, as opposed to the success produced by stardom." It's a musical dream come true, which takes us from a small town in the deep south to the celebrated and legendary Apollo Theatre in New York City. Pelley has performed with orchestras world wide, including Germany and Portugal. In 1998 she debuted her Jazz CD Trust the Moment which put her in the spotlight and in the hearts of jazz lovers across Canada after its launch at an evening hosted by Shelagh Rogers at Toronto's Top '0"The Senator, and an appearance on CTV's Canada AM and followed by airplay of the newly released CD on CBC's After Hours. Several of the great artists Pelley has performed with include the acclaimed trombonist Ray Anderson, gospel/blues legend Jackie Richardson and Flamenco 'guitarist Jesse Cook to name a few.
