PAGE 9. Brussels Novice Bulls battle Wildcats in Monkton The Blyth PeeWee Dynamite broomball team started its season against Seaforth Wednesday night. It was a good matchup with lots of action throughout the game. Blyth displayed some good passing and Brussels may be long-term ambulance post Brussels and two other locations in the county will likely continue to host a post for the county ambulance service. Larry Adams, chief administrative officer, told county councillors at the Nov. 2 meeting that a half-year experiment in which ambulances had been posted at the fire stations in Brussels and Bayfield and at the former Ashfield Twp. office, had proved successful in reducing response times for the ambulance service. Council passed a recommendation that the three posts be maintained, though it proposed that a new site be located for Brussels because it was felt the fire hall was unsuitable. But under questioning from Huron East councillor Joe Seili, county treasurer David Carrey said that health and safety issues with the fire hall had been improved, except for the need for exhaust fans to be installed. Council noted that there would be additional expenses for maintaining the posts. Warden Rob Morley noted that the municipalities had been providing space for free but would want to be compensated for a longer term deal. "I'd like to thank the municipalities that have gone along with (the experiment)," he said. Seaforth's broomball skills started to kick in through the second period to Scott Jefferson, whose shot found the corner of the net. The Wildcats kept the Brussels squad on their toes for the remainder of the game. Fans on both sides were thrilled as Elma-Logan player #99 Nick Jung showed signs of the Great One himself with a flourish of end-to-end rushes.
