MOTORS L Brussels Atoms play Blyth
The Brussels Atom Reps started
their season at home against Blyth.
Brussels got things started, but
Blyth answered With three quick
ones.
The hosts didn't give up, however,
and Brook McLean scored with
Jordyn Sholdice assisting.
Blyth scored a few more goals,
then the game got a little rougher
and penalties were called for both
sides:
Mitchell Kellington got Brussels'
next goal, with brothers Brody and
Hayden TenPas getting the assists.
The next goals were Blyth's,
before McLean went in short-
handed to score for Brussels. Lexi
Smith assisted. Then it was a
turnaround and Smith bulged the
twine after McLean set up the play.
The defensive lines of Colton
Hastings, Anthony Vader, Reece
McArter, Tanner Cardiff and Kai
Heimstra were kept busy. But it was
goalie Matt McNichol who really
had to hustle in this contest.
The next match was against
Wingham away.
Brussels got on the board in the
first with Smith setting up the goal
for B. TenPas.
Kellington, assisted by B. TenPas
scored another to finish things
before the buzzer.
Wingham closed the gap, but
McLean, assisted by Sholdice
increased the Brussels lead with one
minute remaining.
While playing short-handed
Brussels managed another with only
a second on the clock. H. TenPas lit
the light on this one, with an assist
from Smith.
The final score was 4-2.

Brussels Tykes
tie Seaforth 1-1
On Saturday the Seaforth Tykes
and the Brussels Tykes faced off in
hockey action. Both sides played a
very tough, fast-paced game.
Countless saves were made on both
teams as goalies did their very best
to stop the puck from going into the
net.
There was no score until late in
the second period when Seaforth
Lucknow Midgets visited
Wingham on Nov. 2 and were
handed a 3-2 setback at the hands of
Wingham's Midget Rep team,
This game wasn't as close as the
score indicated as Wingham held a
definite edge in play, but had trouble
hitting the net.
Wingham scored one in each
period with Wade Stephenson
scored, on a rebound, against
Brussels goalie Derrick Waechter.
No to be discouraged, Brussels
continued its ultimate play with
Konrad McArter scoring his first
goal of the season, assisted by Wyatt
Machan and Cody Harding. This left
the score at a 1-1 tie. These two
teams play again at the Brussels
arena Saturday at 11 a.m.

second period. The first goal for
Blyth went to Drew Bromley with

Zurich came back to tie it up, but
Blyth pulled ahead once again with
Amy Boyce scoring, assisted by
Owen Weber.
In the last 12 seconds of the game
the puck, sent in the air, rolled into
the Blyth net.
The third period had Zurich
jamming the puck into the net
partway through the third.
Although the girls fought hard
they were unable to recover and
recorded the 1-0 loss.
There was little time to dwell on
this however as it was off to
Kitchener on Sunday. Determined to
come away with some points this
