The OPP Huron Detachment is
again reminding motorists that they
are required by law to slow down
and move away from stopped
emergency vehicles, which have
their emergency lights activated.
Emergency vehicles include police,
ambulance, and fire vehicles as well
as others, which have a red flashing
light.
This law was created for the safety
of emergency workers, who
routinely get struck by motorists
who fail to move away. In many
cases drivers fail to slow down

Rev. McCauley's message to the
adults was, Gathered At A Common
Table. As she researched her sermon
she found that the Presbyterian
Church was the first to start the
World Wide Communion. All the
Presbyterian Churches were asked
to have communion on a certain day
and soon other denominations
joined in and now it is world-wide
on the first Sunday in October.
It is celebrated differently in
different countries and with different
names e.g. The Last Supper or Holy
Communion. But, no matter what,
it's the same - the breaking of bread
and the drinking of wine.
She asked everyone to partake in
communion and to think of all the
people around the world. Myrtle
Badley, Diana Campbell, Doug
Howson, Tom Dunbar, Lois van
Vliet and Joan Clark served
communion to the congregation.
$1,000 - $4,000 for subsequent
offences, or imprisonment for a
maximum of six months, or both a
fine and imprisonment and a
possible suspension of driver's
licence for up to two years. All
convictions will result in the
addition of three demerit points to a
driver's record.
Officers will continue to enforce
this law in order to protect the lives
of all emergency personnel as far too
many have lost their lives in recent
years and to help prevent future
tragedies.
