Club was Sew Easy for St. Augustine 4-Hers

After meetings on July 28 and
Aug. 22, the St. Augustine Sewers
are all finished the club Sew
Easy. -
At the July meeting, the focus was
on sewing and many members
finished up one or both of their
projects. In August, the members
spent their time finishing up
bookwork.

The sixth meeting of the Lucknow
4- H Beef Club was held on Aug. 20,
at the Lucknow Legion.
The meeting opened with the
pledge followed by the roll call led
by Kristina Drennan. Rosemary
Martin then explained what would
be happening at this meeting.
Greg Hackett explained to the
members about the 4-H beef sale at
the Brussels Sales Barn in October.
At its Aug. 22 meeting the council
of Huron East endorsed the
recommendation of Paul Steckle to
exempt farmers who work off farm
from paying unemployment
insurance premiums as this is
insurance they do not qualify for.

Council endorsed the resolution of
the Municipality of South Bruce
concerning the efforts of the
advocacy group Fair Funding for
Small Communities in Ontario in
their work to secure sustainable
long term infrastructure funding for
water and waste water projects in
small communities. They will
petition the provincial and federal
