Obituaries
GRACE PETHICK
Grace Pethick of McKillop Twp.
passed away on Saturday, Aug. 5,
2006 in her 78th year.
The former Grace Roe, was the
beloved wife of the late George
Pethick. She was the dear mother of
Ken and Val of Walton and Sharon
and Steve Steinman of Wyoming.
She was the cherished grandmother
of six grandchildren, Rick, Andy,
David, Eric, Spencer and Hailey.
Mrs. Pethick is survived by two
sisters Kathleen Williamson of
Walton and Laureen Hubert of North
Bay, a sister-in-law Annie Rapson of
Seaforth and several loving nieces
and nephews.
She was predeceased by a
daughter Isabel Pethick, a sister
Marjorie Racho and her parents
Lorne and Anna (Nicholson) Roe.
Friends called at the Whitney-
Ribey Funeral Home, Seaforth on
Monday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9
p.m. where the funeral service was
held on Tuesday, Aug. 8 at 2 p.m.
Rev. John Gould officiated.
Interment was in Maitlandbank
Cemetery, Seaforth.
Pallbearers were Rick Pethick,
Andy Pethick, David Pethick, Eric
Steinman, Spencer Steinman and
Bob Brugger. Flowerbearer was
Hailey Steinman.
A reading as given by her
granddaughter Hailey Steinman and
the eulogy was given by Steve
Steinman. Soloist was Graeme Craig
and organist was Cheryl Ann St.
Onge.
Memorial donations may be made
to Cavan United Church, Winthrop,
Seaforth Community Hospital
Foundation, Heart and Stroke
Foundation, Community Care
Access Centre or Breast Cancer

HANNA TENPAS
Hanna TenPas went to be with her
Lord, peacefully, with her family by
her side at Ritz Lutheran Villa,
Mitchell on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006.
She was in her 95th year.
Hanna was the beloved wife of the
late Bernard TenPas. She was the
loving and devoted mother of Hank
and Agnes TenPas of Brussels,
Teresa and Klaas DeVries of
Listowel, Wilma and Henk Ensing of
Guelph, Diane and Reid Hackwell of.
London and Ben and Chris TenPas
of Brussels. She was the dear
mother-in-law of Mary and her
husband Henry van Bameveld of St.
Josephs. She was the dear sister of
Gerda Hesselink of Drayton and one
sister and two brothers in Holland.
Hanna was also loved by her 20
grandchildren and her 41 great-
grandchildren.
Mrs. TenPas was predeceased by
her son Albert and infant daughter
Ria.
Friends were received by the
family from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m.
Thursday at the Bethel Christian
Reformed Church, Listowel where
the funeral was conducted on Friday,
Aug. 4 at 11 a.m. officiated by Rev.
Dr. Jack DeVries.
Granddaughters Denise and Dawn
sang Thy World is a Lamp Unto My
Feet as a tribute to their
grandmother.
Pallbearers were Hank TenPas,
Reid Hackwell, Ben TenPas, Henk
Ensing, Klaas DeVries, and Henry
van Barneveld.
Burial was in Brussels Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy,
memorial donations may be made to
the Ritz Lutheran Villa or the charity
of one's choice.

BARBARA WARD
Barbara Ann (Valiance) Ward of
RR 1, Ethel, passed away suddenly at
her residence Wednesday, Aug. 2,
2006.
Born in Palmerston on Nov. 22,
1947, Barbara was in her 59th year.
Barbara was the beloved wife of
Larry Ward. She was the dear
mother of Anthony Ward and wife
Tricia of Ethel and Sheri Machan
and husband Trevor of Molesworth.
She was the loving grandmother of
Ashton, Brooklyn, Lucas,
Mackenzie and Shelby. She was the
dear sister of Sandy and Gail
Valiance of Moorefield, Bill and
Laurel Valiance of Woodstock,
Wendy and Ray Walsh of Harriston,
Darlene and Mike Roeder of
Listowel, Stewart Valiance of
Harriston, Darwin Valiance of
Listowel, Donna and Gary Hopper
of Atwood, Judy and Mike Harris
and Kim and Ann Valiance, all of
Harriston. Barbara was also loved by
her parents-in-law Lawson and
Muriel Ward of Listowel and her
many nieces and nephews.
A sister, Heather Cooper,
predeceased her.
Friends were received by the
family from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m.
Friday at the Schiinanski Family
Funeral Home, Brussels, where the
funeral service was conducted on
Saturday, Aug. 5 at 2 p.m. with
Sandra Cable of Ethel United
Church officiating.
Carrying floral tributes were Sheri
Machan, Tricia Ward, Yvonne
Cochrane and Diane Mitchell.
Pallbearers were Tony Ward, Steve
Mitchell, Kenny Fike, Donny
Cochrane, Ray Wright and Jack
Ross.
Burial was in Mount Pleasant
Cemetery, Ethel.
