The Citizen, 2006-07-13, Page 20PAGE 20. THE CITIZEN, THURSDAY, JULY 13, 2006. 2006 GRADUATION 2006 Seaforth valedictorian describes his classmates Continued from page 19. Army Sergeant. He'S my sniper buddy at paintball and has the steadiest aim that you can imagine. Aaron is very smart and he has some pretty funny stories to tell. He's a good basketball player and plays broomball with Kody in the winter. Tyler R is funny and he tries his hardest in everything he does, which I think is awesome. Matt who is dating Lindsay, is very bright, always happy and has an insane throw in basketball that usually gets everyone out. Jon he's an amazing runner, great soccer player and will be the next pro inline skater. Hey, how's the 1020 coming? Scott, motocross man! Tallest kid in -our school. He is a lot of fun and really good at juggling the soccer ball when we are fooling around. Andrew always has something interesting to tell you. He is very fast, and his kick in soccer is really good. Taylor W is quite the poker player. He's going to be the next NBA player I swear. He shows me up all the time in basketball, which isn't cool. And last but not least... Michelle, my fellow valedictorian who thinks she has a better speech than me but doesn't right? She's always laughing and has' some pretty sweet converse shoes. In closing I would like to say we should all be proud of what we've accomplished. There have been good times, great memories, experiences and friendships that will last a lifetime. I wish you all the best of times in high school and let's hear it for the Graduating Class of 2006! Valedictorian shares memories of years at BPS Continiued from page 14 the boys how to really stand out in a crowd. After many years of brushes and bobby pins, some of it has finally rubbed off. I'm sure if you asked Colin and Kurtis, they'd love to explain how well Captain Comb-over goes with their aviators. Each and every one of us have come so far together, as well as individually over the years. We have made great memories and discovered unforgettable friendships. We are now at an important point in our lives where we must -be responsible, make important decisions and remember that our teachers are no longer going to chase us. I think I can safely say that Blyth Public School has given us deep roots and set us well in our path to success. And now to my fellow graduates, my classmates, my friends. The first part of our journey is completed. We did it, but only with the help of our great teachers sharing their intellect and guidance with us. And we can't forget to thank our parents, all those parent-teacher interviews and help with our projects and homework. They have been our solid backbone for the past years; supporting and encouraging us, thank you. The past 10 years have been spent together growing, learning, and slowly but surely maturing. We've bettered and helped prepare each other for the years head. This September we are headed for high school, where we will have bigger challenges and harder decisions to set before us. We can do it though, no challenge too great, no opportunity too small to show the world who we, and what we're made of. Don't be afraid to stand out, let your individuality shine through. Life is what you make of it. Be a leader not a follower. Remember that true friends don't ask you to change and don't want you to. And always keep your sense of humour close at hand; it will help you get through situations when technicalities and intellect fail. I would like the leave you tonight, with a quote by Charles Swindell. , "The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than success, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break an organization, a school, a home. The remarkable thing is that we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past. We cannot change that fact that' people will act a certain way. 'We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play the string we have. And that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10 per cent what happens to me and 90 per cent how I react to it. And so it is with you." So now, it is my honour to present to you Blyth Public School's graduating Class of 2006.
