East Wawanosh GRADUATION
Graduation a memorable life experience . •
2006
By Brandon
Chaffe
Hello and
welcome to the
graduation of the
Grade 8 class of
2005/2006. On
A behalf of all of us
A in the class, I
would like to
thank everyone
who is present tonight to witness and
help us through this memorable life
experience.
Also, I would like to take this time
to thank the class on voting me the
class valedictorian. This opportunity
is one I will surely never forget,
along , with all the other memories
from this past year. Why I might not
forget them, well, I hope it's for all
good reasons.
Anyway, oddly enough, June 28
has been marked down on my
calendar for this past year. Now that
it has come, and will leave us like
any ordinary day, I'm not sure that I
want it to go.
This will be the last "formal"
meeting of this class and all its
personalities such as the following:
Skylar Burley — The one you
would never want to race against.
Alicia Appleby — definite future
teacher, and she would always clean
up after any unfortunate messes.
Ashley Casemore — the one who
go along with everybody. •
Ellen Cook — you never see her
without a smile on her face and once
she started laughing, it's hard to stop
her.
Dalton Delisle — the kid with
springs for legs.
Daniel Elliott — whatever Mr.
Leroux said, Dan would take it the
wrong way.
Dallas Pennington — he was the
kid to cheat off in health class.
Tammy Hewitt — the soft-spoken,
ultra-friendly artist.
Nicole Robinson — the model we
will most likely hear more about in
the future.
Kaytee Richmond — someone
must have left her talk mode on auto
pilot.
Kate-Lynn Losch — never afraid to
speak up and voice her opinion.
Meagan Pletch — the only person I
ever met that actually talked in MSN
language.
Matt Shiell — the wicked laughing -
( owboy who no matter what always
added the extra comment
Mike McDowell — need I say
more? The energizer bunny must be
his idol.
Jamie Guy — better known as
Marzy and always found with his
nose on a book.
Greg Dodds — aka "Gym Class
Hero".
Jason Hallahan — no matter what,
it was always a joke to him.
Adam Splettsdoeser — the bacon
crazed Conspiracy Theorist who had
it in for "Jimi!"
Andrew Hess — the one who would
always hand in the unique project.
And finally me ... Stick Chaffe —
but known to authorities as Brandon
... well ... I'll let you guys make
your own comments.
However, with all that aside, this
moment could be the last time you
see your fellow graduates through
the same eyes you're seeing through
with now. Sure, you glance at them,
nod your head in their direction or
tip your hat later in your life, but
that's just customary. As it is right-
now, all of us in this room are
currently, and forever will be bonded
with the title of EWPS graduating
class of 2005/2006.
Ask any parent or older sibling
and they will tell you too, that they
haven't forgot their Grade 8
graduation. This forever will be
etched in your mind.
As a 35-year-old, you could be
flipping through an old picture
between feeding your kids and
working, and come across your grad
picture and Grade 8 class picture and
instantaneously, you're back there.
All the memories will come flooding
back, drowning out any mid-life
worry you may have.
You. start to remember when "so
and so spat chocolate milk out his
nose or when ... so and so broke Mr.
Leroux's coffee mug ... or when so
and so called Mr. Leroux 'mom' but
whatever it is, you just become that
Grade 8 again.
You can't help but smile. Then
further on, you remember all the
terrific teachers you had the pleasure
of having all the way from JK to
Grade 8. All the teachers had their
own personal teaching style, some
would teach hands on, whereas the
opposite would write out notes, but
no matter which way all the teachers
did an amazing job. Thanks.
