Potluck lunch begins Majestic WI meeting
Fourteen ladies enjoyed a potluck
lunch at the home of Lucy Hesse on
June 14, the last meeting for the
Majestic Women's Institute for the
summer.
Yvonne Knight won a gift for
having the lucky cup.
A short meeting followed with
Ruth Bauer presiding.
Leona Armstrong had information
on the Connecting Link.

If you know or suspect someone is
being abused, make the effort to
reach out to that person.
Talk to them and offer help.
Encourage the abuse to seek help
and assistance.

Listowel Agricultural Hall and the
Huron County fall rally is at

members only have been asked to
submit names for secretary, treasurer
and Tweedsmuir for the 2006-07
executive.
A quilt show will be held June 21-
23. 2007 at Barrie.
Kathy Bridge told members and
friends the UFO dates. July I I will
be held at Joan James'. Anyone
interested will be taught about
painting rocks. Otherwise bring a
project to work on. Aug. 8 is hosted
by Joyce Triebner. Jackie Mirotta is
hosting the Sept. 13 meeting.

The 2007 ACWW church service
is to be held Sunday, April 27.
Hampstead and Kuhryville Wis will
be hosts. The location and time will

The fall executive meeting will be
held Tuesday, Sept. 19. 7 p.m. at St.
Paul's United Church, Milverton.
Mrs. Harding gave her remarks to
finalize the day. She thanked
everyone for their co-operation over
the first successful year of the new
Huron-Perth District Women's
Institute.
She attended six branch meetings,
four district annual meetings and
two branch annual meetings. It has
been,. great fun and a learning
experience. She reminded members
to not let the minutes and protocol
run the meetings.
All 15 branches are represented on
her e-mail. The star beside a name
means responsibility for taking
information back to their branches.
She has meet and made many friends

Grey Twp.'s 150th will be held on
July 7, 8, 9. Mrs. Armstrong needs
volunteers to sell tickets on the
Women's Institute quilt.

Every branch should have a
special meeting in February 2007
since the Women's Institute will he
110 years old.
Meetings are already being held
for Brussels 135th anniversary in
July 2007. Members will be asked
for help when more information is
available.
Edna McLbllan kept the ladies
smiling with her array of Smiles.
The ladies adjourned to the living
room where a movie, One Size Fits
All, was shown. Liz Curtis Higgs is
a comedian who related stories that
not all, "one size fits all" should be
stated "one size fits most". It was
a great show to finish off the
meeting.
Happy Birthday was sung to Edna
McLellan and Yvonne Knight.
