The Londesborough PeeWee Girls
returned home Wednesday. June 14
with a 20-15 win over Seaforth.
"The team, as a whole hit, very
well and added some outstanding
defensive plays as well." said coach
Don Allen.
Pitching for Londesborough were
Marsha Rozendal, Vanessa Wilts and
Emily Allen.
Twelve runs were scored in the
third inning, seven for
Londesborough, and five for
Seaforth. Apart from the first and
last innings, when the teams tied in
runs, Londesborough maintained
run superiority throughout the game.
On Friday, June 16, with some
outstanding plays, Londesborough
won a home game against Colborne.
PeeWee Girls
beat Seaforth
The Brussels U-8s travelled to
Elm, It was a fun night of soccer.
Brussels worked really hard and
finally Logan Kellington scored
with Jake Mitchell assisting.
Elma didn't give up and scored to
tie it.
Kellington scored again with
U-8s play Elma
After the second inning.
Londesborough maintained• the lead.
In the fourth inning, each team had
seven runs.
The pitching combo of Wilts and
Allen combined for 10 strikeouts in
five innings.
"Rozendal put on a show at the
plate slamming a two-run homer, a
grand slam and finished with a two
run triple," said Allen.
"Emma Dale showed /a flash of
power also by hitting a solo home
run."
Last week's scores for the team
left out that its first game was.played
in Kincardine.
Apologies also, for misspelling
Vanessa Wilts' and Marsha
Rozendal's names.
Cody Harding assisting. But Elma
tied up at the end with a final of
2-2.
Derrick Waechter did an ekcellent
job in net helped by great defence
from Teagan McGavin, Mackenzie '
McNichol, Sarah Strome and Sophie
Cardiff.
The Blyth Mite As are off to a
great start this year with three wins
and two losses.
The season started with a win
against Ethel. -
Next the team took a loss to
Lucknow at home.
Tuesday girls day out is proving
very popular at the Wingham golf
course with no less than 31 out to
enjoy the golf and barbecue.
Mary Houghton won the award
for the longest putt on number
three.
Without a doubt more and more
girls are having fun golfing. Why
just the other day I heard a scream
of joy from the third hole as Gail
Neil sank a long putt and the
pressure caused her golfing partner
Luanne to miss her short putt.

Lots. of fun on Wednesday
seniors day as Alf Schwichtenberg
brought eight of his golfing seniors
from the Summerhill Golf Club to
play. Two of the visitors were
matched with two of our crew and
it made for a fun day for all.
The "quote of the day" came
from the lips of golf cart driver Jon
Rawson when he commented to
leftie Alt Schwichtenherg, "Alt.
l've watched you all day and this
course is designed for lefties and
vou have't't taken advantage of this
fact on one hole vet "
And Bob Graham who was
paired up with 8(1-year-old Clayton
In games three and four the
Blyth team won against
Belgrave and Wingham then
lost their fifth game to Brus-
sels.
There has been some great
catching. hitting and pitching all
Ruppel commented in amazement
when Clayton out-drove all other
members of the foursome "I think
we had better check this young 86-
year golfer. Ile must be on
steroids."
Marc Forrest captured first prize
with visitor Gary Harrington taking
the second prize. Tied for third
were locals Bill Deans. Bob
Campbell and Roly Kaufman with
final prize going to visitors Robert
LaFarge.

Wednesday men's night saw 22
out for golf and barbecue. John
Dailleboust captured the A flight
low gross with a 38 with B flight
winner going to Mike Logan with a
41. Low nets in A flight went to
Zack O'Krafka and Terry Powell
with Dan McBurney and Dean
Tiffin tied for the honours in B
flight.
Skins were won by Joe Clark
number two. John Dailleboust on
number five, Dan Campbell on
number se ye n and Jamie Chester on

Bull s tang turned out 25 strong
with some good and sonic not-so-
around and everyone is working as a
team, said coaches.
The team includes Michael,
Matthew, Keyonia, Dylan,
Jordan. Joel, Rachel, Isaac,
Joshua, Jillian, Patrick Trystan and
Holly.

Terry Powell continued to have
the hot hand with a 36 with second
low net to Bill Robinson with a 41.
Bob Gavreluk had the hot putter

putt with thanks to his adoption of
Moe Norman's natural golf

Aart DeVos won all the skins
thanks to Buff's special handicap
system which gave Aart a birdie on
number six.

The first open three-man
scramble was held on June 17 with
10 teams on hand. First place
winners with a 63 was the team of
Zack O'Krafka, Curtis Knight and
Jerrad Riley. Three teams were tied
for second with a score of 65. One
was the team from Toronto, the trio
of Leon White. Byron Brown and
Denis Rosenberg. The next team
included Dan Campbell, Dot Neil
and Louie Livingston and the third
team members were Joel Riley. Bill
Robinson and Trevor Hopf.
- On a very hot day it was a very
successful tournament and will he a
regular yearly event.
