On June 2, Wawanosh 4-H held
its first meeting for Animal Friends
at 7 p.m. at June Robinson's.
The leader, Mary Ellen Foran
began the meeting with the 4-H
pledge and went over the club's
objectives. Then she led the roll
call, asking members what their
favourite animal is.
The election of officers followed.
Melissa Higgins was . voted
president and Jolande Oudshoorn is
vice-president. The secretary will be
a revolving position. Reba Jefferson
volunteered to be press reporter.
The members divided into groups
of two. One group went outside and
was given an animal and told to
make that sound. The other group
was given an animal and was
blindfolded. The-members that were
blindfolded were to listen and try to
find the animal sound of the animal
they got.
Members then took turns reading
information on looking after pets
and things you need to consider
before purchasing. They also filled
out how much care each animal
needed.
Members are to pick a pet and do
a project on it. Members are to
'decide on their pet before the next
meeting.
