A Stratford woman is planning a
fundraiser to fight cancer.
Patty Baker is planning to bike
from Stratford to Wingham, June 16
in an effort to raise money for cancer
research. The reason, she said, is that
the disease has had a tremendous
effect on her life. "1. had cancer a
couple of years ago. My sister had
thyroid cancer, my mom had cancer,
my dad died of cancer and my uncle
had prostate cancer."
The 38-year-old, who has friends
in Goderich and relatives in
Wingham, has been doing different
rides for several years. For four
years.she raised funds for the Crohns
and . Colitis Foundation, then last
year targetted the Special Olympics
as her cause.
"I hope this year to raise over
$2,000 for cancer," she said.
Anyone interested in sponsoring
her can contact her at 519-272-2810
for more information. Tax receipts
will be issued for donations of $10
or more.
