Dr. Ferrier will talk about breast
health and breast screening.
Organized breast screening does
help reduce the number of deaths
from breast cancer.
"In Huron County, only about 40
per cent of women 50 years of age
and over take advantage of this
program," says public health nurse
Anne Haley.
Ontario Breast Screening
information shows most women are
screened only on the advice of their
family health care provider. With
doctor shortages continuing, women
need to know they can sign up for
the breast-screening program
themselves. Just call 1-800-461-
0640.
For more information, or to
register for the Taking a Bite Out of
Cancer event, call the Huron County
Health Unit at 482-3416 or long
distance at 1-877-837-6143.
