PAGE 17. Kids Club has fun during March break Area children and youth who attend the Kid's Club at Corner- stone Bible Fellowship in Ethel enjoyed some extra activities during March break. The leaders of the club realized that they were all staying in the area for the holiday, and decided to offer a variety of events for the kids in the community. The club itself ran as usual on Monday, March 13. Then on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. the kids and their caregivers were invited to the church for Fun with Food, where they learned how to prepare a meal and a tasty snack and In the extreme It was a night of extreme games for the Kids Club at Cornerstone Bible Fellowship in Ethel on Friday night. Participants enjoyed a number of active games including this one called Birdie on the Perch. (Vicky Bremner photo) also played some games. On Friday night, starting at 7 p.m. March Madness was offered. The kids from the club were encouraged to bring friends and enjoyed a night of extreme games such as Birdie on the Perch and a live band. All youth 12 and older were invited. Cornerstone Church is a satellite of Listowel Evangelical Missionary Church. More information on the programs and the regular Kids Club is available by calling 335-3623 or 291-6344. Euchre night a success in Ethel The Ethel euchre was held on Monday, March 13 with eight tables in play. Winners were: share-the- wealth, Allison Sleightholm, Edna McLellan; high, Richard Elliot, Verna Crawford, Eleanor Stephenson; lone hands, June Jacklin, Edna McLellan, Keith Turnbull; low, Shirley Verstoep, Beryl Smith; tally, Florence Holmes, Allan Martin, Kathy Bridge, Dorothy Martin, Hilda Holmes, Allan Edgar, Leota Thompson, Ross Stephenson and Myrna Burnett. HOMEMADE SEASONED SAUSAGE PATTIES 2 lbs boneless pork shoulder 4 oz. salt pork ground together twice 2/3 cup water small onion, finely chopped 2 tbsp finely snipped parsley 4 tsp ground sage 1 tsp each salt, pepper flakes, chili powder 1/2 tsp each thyme, marjoram, basil 2 minced garlic cloves In a large bowl thoroughly combine all ingredients. Divide in burn School House half on waxed paper and shape into two rolls 6" long and 2" in diameter. Chill thoroughly. Slice into 1/2" thick rounds. Place in frying pan(don't pre-heat pan). Cover and cook on low temperature 10-12 minutes. Turning once. SWEET PICKLE MEAT LOAF 2 beaten eggs 1 cup soft bread crumbs 1/4 cup ketchup 1/4 cup diced onion 2 tbsp sweet relish 1 tbsp prepared mustard 1 tsp prepared horseradish 1 1/2 lbs ground beef (lean) In a large bowl combine all ingredients and mix very well. Pack into a 9"x4" pan. Bake at 325° for 1 hour. *** To soften sugar, brown, white or icing, put 1/2 apple in the jar or tin. *** Add a vanillatean to a quart sealer of white sugar; leave several weeks and it will impart a nice vanilla flavour.
