Kidding around
About 10 students spent their first day of March break learning some child-rearing skills at a
baby-sitting course at the Brussels, Morris and Grey Community Centre. Megan, Tilynn and
Zach 11, took part in the course offered by the Canadian Red Cross Association. Lissa Berard
was the instructor for the day. (Heather Crawford photo)

PAGE 16. THE CITIZEN, THURSDAY, MARCH 16, 2006.
It's a good thing four local boys
went skiing last Monday, because as
I write this on Monday the rain is
pouring down and it is mild.
Heading off to Blue Mountain at
Collingwood were Chris and Devon
Blake, Scott McDonald and Barry
Young. They enjoyed a beautiful day
of skiing with bright sunny weather
and comfortably cool temperatures.
They hit the right day for a real deal
lunch — a large pizza, four pops and
four chocolate bars for $20.
They enjoyed their outing for this
year and look forward to skiing
again next year.
Our condolences to the Henderson
and Wilbee family on the passing of
Art Henderson. He was the father-in-
law of Carol Wilbee Henderson and
our sympathies are extended to
Murray and Carol, Scott and Steven
and extended family.
Congratulations to Maxine Marks
who is grandma to a second baby
girl over 20 years after the last baby
girl.
Proud parents are Blaine and Kelly
and welcoming his new baby' sister,
Morgan Amy, is big brother Ryan.
Happening to be home for the
arrival of his new niece is Brian
Marks of Calgary. He is here for a
week or so and may stay longer.
A family dinner was held at Brian
and Sharon Pryce's on Sunday
evening so everyone could have a
visit together.-
Bad luck seems to follow Paul
Dolmage as he is laid up again. He
suffered a broken leg during a
hockey game on Sunday.
Two years ago, he broke both his
tibia and fibia in his one leg and this
time he has broken the tibia in the
other leg. He expects a six to eight
week recovery period.
We send speedy recovery wishes
to Paul.
In Stratford Hospital is Lila
Storey. We send our best wishes to
her while she waits for her upcoming
surgery.
There has been flu or something
affecting of lot of area people this
past week or two. Suffering have
been Howard Hackwell, Chris Lee,
Jim Ryan and Judy Lee just to name
a few. We hope they all are feeling
better real soon.
Jeanne Kirkby has had a visitor for
the past week. Her visitor is not the
two-legged kind, but the four-
legged. She is dog sitting Jesse, the
border collie, for her son Paul and
family, while they are away. It's a
full and rambunctious household
with the border collie and Jeanne's
two golden retrievers.
Expect a noisy welcome when
calling on Jeanne.
Howard and Audrey Hackwell had
Eddie, Patricia and Sebastian
Andrades home for the weekend
from Whitby. They enjoyed a great
visit with Eddie playing chef for the
morning breakfast.
Eddie and Patricia returned to
Whitby on Sunday, leaving
Sebastian to spend March break with
grandma ancI grandpa.
Trips to the farm to see Uncle
Elliott and rides in the truck with
grandpa Howard will fill the days.
Sebastian assisted Howard at the
door of the Sunday night Legion
dance, helped grandma Audrey by
eating the carrots and was the errand
boy checking on the bartender if he
heeded anything. He danced with an
older woman, (he's only seven) and
shared some fun with Catrina and
Jo-Anne. He's a popular young man
when at the dance.
