It was the end of the road for Blyth
Atoms as Embro put them out of
OMHA contention with a clean
sweep in Blyth, March 9.
After tough losses in the first two
games of this playoff, Blyth came
back fighting.
With no score going into the second
period, the team, for the first time in

"We certainly missed seeing the
snowmobilers around," she said.
"The trail is right across the street
from us and they usually stop in for
lunch and increase the traffic here."
Elliott said she feels it was the
weather that warranted the
difference and that it varies every
year.
Janet Blok, part of the wait staff at
an inn in Blyth said she was still
plenty busy on her weekends.
"I worked a lot of days during the
weekends and it was really busy in
here, with lots of snowmobilers,"
she said.
Blok said she feels snowmobilers
do make an impact on business.

the series struck first when Alex
Peters handed off to Matt VanWyk,
who set up his brother, Mike to
score.
Things looked good as Blyth
carried the lead into the final period.
Embro must have found its game
legs in the break, however, as they
came back to score first the tie-
snowmobile retailer, said he noticed
a big difference this year.
"We had a drastic reduction in
sales," he said. "In January the trails
were all open but there was no
snow."
Hoy said the landowner issues
had no effect on sales and that
the difference this year was the
weather.
"We can always hope for the best,"
he said. "But it all depends on the
weather."
Sales were down for Jim Bauer, a
snowmobile retailer in Dublin. "I
think it's getting so that there are
less people snowmobiling," he said.
Bauer said he bas noticed sales in
ATVs increasing over the last few
years. "The municipalities are
and Kirian Jared.
Marshall scored again for Blyth,
assisted by Kathryn Chalmers.
Tiffany Deitner held Blyth to only
two goals and the final score was 4-
2.
It was a great game for Jared,
breaker, then the go-ahead goal
within a minute.
They sealed the victory with a
third goal in the dying seconds of the
game.
The final score was 3-1.

letting people ride on the roads more
now and there are ATV trails," he
said. "I think we'll see more and
more of that trend.'
Bauer said he had a really good
showing of pre-season sales this
year but units left over in January
weren't moving. "Usually we have
40 per cent of units left over and 25-
30 per cent of those sell in February
but they weren't selling this year,"
he said.
He also predicts sales to be down
again next year. He ordered 10 per
cent less stock for next season.
Still, he says, he's hopeful.
"I have to stay optimistic. The die-
hard snowmobilers will be out no
matter what," he said. -They'll be
heading north regardless."
