Toilets and shoes for Philimon
Area resident Jessica Bokhout is currently in Lusaka, Zambia with CARE.
Many generous people fror North Huron donated money to Bokhout's
educational project which haprened before and after Christmas 2005 She e-
mailed home pictures of her with the children. Money went to clothes, school
supplies, and a brand new pair of leather shoes, shown off here by one of the
youngsters. Another $6,500 was donated to build six toilets at the Flying
Angels School. An additional $6,000 went to support the work of the Kondwa
Day Centre, a pre-school for orphans (www.kondwa.org) Bokhout
acknowledges the support of the community saying this project was concrete
evidence of the generosity and marvellous community mindedness of the
folks in Huron and Perth Counties. (Photo submitted)
Auburn sends its sympathy to the
family and relatives of Amy
MacCrostie, formerly Amy Toll who
grew up in the community on the
Toll farm east of Auburn. she had
two children Annette and Dale, as
well as nieces and nephews, some of
whom are within the Auburn
community. She has one brother in
London, Stewart Toll.
The funeral was Monday at
McCallum and Palla in Goderich.
Shelley and Bob Worsell
announced the arrival of their
nephew Dixon Shoemaker. Proud
parents are Monique and Dick
Shoemaker. Spoiling privileges go to
Tom and Margo Morris.
Greg and Nancy Park of Auburn
area, along with Mike and Adele
Drennan of Goderich, spent the
weekend visiting friends Ann and
Richard Jarvis in Bolton. They had a
great time renewing friendships and
catching up on family events.
Richard and Ann shared their
excitement of new grandson Luke.
That is it for this week folks, but
please remember it is the long days
of winter when it is the most
important to have a bit of news to
chew on. So please give either
myself or Nancy Park a call. And I
will do my best to spread a bit of
sunshine around the neighbourhood.
I will share a little something with
you all that might be of some interest
— to those who know me anyway.
Just yesterday someone sent me an
e-mail psychology test of some sort
that is supposed to work in a
predicted manner for 98 per cent of
the population. Well, you guessed it
folks, yours truly was in the two per
cent.
I don't know that it says a lot about
me, but I think it says volumes about
the rest of you out there. I have
always thought it was the rest of the
world that was a 'bit off', now I have
the proof that will set me free.
Have a great week everybody.
