Some fundraising opportunities suggested at the meeting included a walk-a-thon, selling poultry and cheese, a car wash and a battle of the bands event. "We really need help fundraising," Howson said. Howson said she spoke with OPP Const. Jeff Walraven regarding policing the walk-a-thon. "He said we could have adults and teenage boys blocking the area where cars aren't allowed instead of police officers," she said. She is hoping local OPP officers will attend the walk-a-thon. Insurance for the event is covered, everyone to send a letter to their local MPP to request that the government not move on the final reading of Bill 36 until there has been proper public consultation. The invitation to worship was repeated responsively. The choir sang an anthem, Sweet Hour of Prayer. Rev. Robin McGauley asked the children to come to the front for their storytime and to bring the baskets of food for the food bank from the narthex along with them. The congregation sang the hymn, Tree of Life, during which a symbol Lent, (a loaf of bread) was brought to the front of the church. Rev. McGauley told the story of how bread sustained Jesus while He was on the mountain. Rev. McGauley had a red sash and she said.
