Obituaries WILLIAM JOHN "JACK" ARMSTRONG Mr. William John "Jack" Armstrong of RR2, Auburn passed away peacefully at Clinton Public Hospital on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006. He was in his 89th year. He was the beloved husband of Elva Armstrong and loving father of Carol and Gerald McDowell of Auburn and Fred and Ruth Armstrong of RR2, Auburn. Jack was the cherished grandfather of Wayne and Claire McDowell, Ron and Alice McDowell, Kim and Allen Walker, Patti and Pat Cronin, Lori and Robert Gordon, Donna Lynn and Brian Merkley, and John Armstrong and his friend Phyllis Gallant. He was also loved and will be missed . by 12 great- grandchildren. Jack was predeceased by his brother Robert Armstrong in 1985. Friends were received at the Blyth Visitation Centre of the Falconer Funeral Homes, 407 Queen St., Blyth on Friday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. The funeral service was held at Knox United Church, Auburn on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 2 p.m. Pallbearers were Wayne McDowell, Ron McDowell, Allen. Walker, Pat Cronin, Robert Gordon, Brian Merkley, and John Armstrong. Spring interment will be in Blyth Union Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations to the Knox United Church, Auburn or the Alzheimer's Society would- be greatly appreciated. KENNETH E. BARBOUR Kenneth Barbour of Brussels passed away at Seaforth Community Hospital on Friday, Feb. 10, 2006. Born in West Wawanosh Twp. on May 31, 1928, Ken was in his 78th year. He was the beloved husband of Laura (McBurney) Barbour. Ken was the dear father of Gary Barbour and his wife Guderin of Glen Allan, Gail Barbour of London, Catherine Napier and her husband Steve of Atlanta, Georgia, Laureen Barbour of Kitchener and Marc Barbour and his wife Trisha of Brussels. He was the dear brother of Helen Errington and her husband Harold of Lucknow, Isabel Young and her husband Earl of East Wawanosh, Phyllis Holmes of London and Allan Barbour and his wife Betty of Listowel. Ken was also loved by his seven grandchildren, Nick and Cheryl Barbour, Lauren, Olivia, Erin, Jonathon, Alyson and Colin. Cremation has taken place. Friends were received by the family one hour prior to an Oddfellows service, held under the auspices of Western Star Lodge No. 149 100F at Brussels United Church on Monday, Feb. 13 at 2 p.m. The celebration of Ken's life followed the service. Sandra Cable officiated. Ken's granddaughter Olivia provided words of comfort, while remembrances of Ken were given by his sister-in-law Betty and son Gary. Ken's daughter-in-law Tricia read Miss Me But Let Me Go. As a tribute the Brussels United Church choir sang In the Garden and Love Lifted Me. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Brussels United Church or to the Seaforth Community Hospital. Interment will be in Brussels Cemetery.
