Novices win 2
Mother Nature wiped out curling
action at the Wingham Curling
Club. Heavy snow downed a tree
over the hydro wires coming from
the road to the transformer,
knocking out power on Sunday,
Feb. 5 and cancelling curling on the
Monday and Tuesday.
Thanks to the efforts of Bill
Haines and Bruce Pewtress,
working in deep snow in the swamp
beside the river, the tree was
removed and all was ready for
hydro crews to repair the lines.
Deep snow and closed roads
added to the delay in repairs.
