The Citizen The Municipality of Central Huron `Building Official' Located centrally in Southwestern Ontario, Central Huron is a picturesque rural community with a population just under 8000. Our municipality currently has a challenging, temporary opportunity in our Building Department. The individual will be responsible for plan review, construction, inspections, and the issuance of building permits in accordance with the Ontario Building Code and other applicable legislation. The requirement is for a full-time (35 hours per week) minimum term of six months. As we are currently adapting to recent leg- islative changes and other challenges this position may lead to full-time employment. Qualifications: The preferred candidate will have a strong background in the construction trades and/or post secondary education in a related discipline. The individual must also possess certification as a Certified Building Code Official in the Province of Ontario or qualify for entry into the OBOA Internship Program. As this position includes significant interaction with the public, the individual must be able to establish and maintain strong working relationships and demonstrate a commitment to customer service.
