There are so many people out there who do
so much to improve their community.
Now you have a chance to say thanks.
Nominate that special person for the 21st
Annual Citizen Citizenship Awards.
Each year a committee chooses an outstanding citizen from each of the Blyth and area
and Brussels and area communities to receive an award for contribution to the
community. If you know someone you think should be honoured, please fill in the ballot
and send it in. You may attach a longer explanation of why you think your nominee
should win, if you like. If you have nominated someone before and he or she didn't win,
please feel free to try again.

attention to themselves is important.
Lewis Sanders of Choices for
Changes, a drug rehabilitation
centre in Stratford said addicts are
sending friends out to gather the
ingredients so as to not look
suspicious.
Rehkopf said he doesn't want
people using the medications for
illicit purposes, "but, I think [people
using it for meth] will just get it
somewhere else."
Potvin said rural areas were
certainly a consideration when
deciding upon the recommendation
but "put up against the risk-benefit
we felt this was the best decision,"
he said.
In an article in The Globe and
Mail Potvin said the ban is a
preventive measure. "It still allows
the public broad access to these very
effective products."
- That may be true in urban areas,
but for residents in Brussels, access
to these medications will require
going that extra mile (or 20).
