(Heather Crawford photo) FROM BLYTH OPP charge youth for breaking window in Blyth On Jan. 27 at approximately 12 am. Huron OPP were requested to assist the Huron County ambulance service. The police responded to a residence in Blyth. An intoxicated young male had a large cut on his wrist, which he had sustained after apparently punching a window at a local business. The male was transported to the hospital for medical attention and was later released. A 17-year-old male will be attending Goderich provincial youth court on March 9 to face one count of mischief under $5,000. BLYTH UNITED CHURCH Greeting at Blyth United Church on Sunday, Jan. 29 were Brenda Brooks and Rob Mason. Ushering were Brenda Brooks, Nicole Kerr, Paul Kerr and Rob Mason. Guest organist was Margaret Kai. The choir sang an anthem If That Isn't Love. Rev. Robin McGauley invited the children to come to the front. She explained to them that 40 days after Christmas there is a tradition in the church of lighting a candle. This day is called Candlemas and is on Thursday of this week. Kortney held the candle to be lit and taken downstairs with the children to Sunday school. The readings were Deuteronomy 18: 15-20, Psalm 111, and Mark 1: 21-28 which was led by Nicole Kerr. Rev. McGauley's message to the adults was Hope Not Fear. The children returned to have the candle they made in Sunday school be blessed. They are taking them home and are to light them on Thursday, the 40th day after Christmas. OPP charge 2 males in Blyth On Jan. 28 at approximately 11 p.m. Huron OPP responded to a call from a concerned citizen of Blyth, who had observed some parties stealing a Canadian flag from a residence on Queen Street, Blyth. A 23-year-old of Blyth and an 18- year-old of Clinton will appear in Goderich provincial court on March 16 to face one count of possession of property obtained by crime and one count each of breach of probation order.
