deceiving the people. In the name of
common sense how long are we to be afflict-
ed with this pharisaical hypocrisy of ex-
claiming ,'thank God I am not as other
hien &c.” which we hear so often from
said party, and in order to make people
believe that they are what they pretend,
they do their clhrty, work under the roof
of an edifice, -which should resound with
not the buffoonery of the ward politician
and trickster, but with praises to God.
How long are our church authorities go-
ing to permit houses that have been sol-
enmlydedicated to tlho worship of God,
to be used to further the interests, not of
morals, nor of religeon, but of politics.
and ignorant fanaticism. To snake the
church a cloak to cover or hide the miser-
able dirty tricks and jobs of any set of
political office -seekers, would be a disgrace
to the dark ages, but' it seems in this en-
lightened Christian age it is looked upon
as a part of the religion of seine people,
and it will be admitted that it is all the
religion they.'havd.} : Let people who re-
spect religion, ttutli and honesty rise and
indignantly spurn these hypocrits who
are undermining not only our churches but
our religion, by degrading our dedicated
churches"to the debasing level of political
bucket shops.
Yours truly,
