Creating a welcoming decor
By Bonnie Gropp

A love of decorating has inspired
Marilyn McDonald to create a truly
welcoming holiday decor.
With the home's open concept,
visitors can enjoy a total visual
experience when they enter the
front door.
Il is also the perfect gathering
place for family. “We've always
been family-centred. They like to
come home and'when they do it's
quite a crew. The open concept has
been perfect.”
Though decorations are limited to
the living and dining areas,
McDonald makes use of evety
available space. “I don’t like it to be
overdone, but I do know what 1
like.”
Though Christmas has always
been about more than the tree.
McDonald admits that she now
decorates more than before. “1
enjoy it. It takes weeks to get it
ready and weeks to clean it up.
though.”
Her favourites are angels. “I have
quite a few collections. Wherever
you might look you’ll find some.”
' Welcome,
Christmas!
We look forward to a wonderful
holiday, and
we hope that all of our loyal
friends and patrons
will enjoy the season as well.
We give you our thanks, and
wish everyone
much happiness.

A place for family
The open concept at Marilyn McDonald’s home is perfect
for holiday entertaining. Some of her angels have a
prominent place, visible as you enter the front door, while

room area (Bonnie Gropp photo)
