On Tuesday the fed steers and heifers sold on a steady market. Cows traded steady. The veal sold under pressure. The lambs sold on an active trade at prices steady to last week. The goats sold under pres­ sure. On Friday all classes of Stock­ ers sold on a strong active trade. There were 655 steers on offer selling from $85 to $89 with sales to $102.25. Jim Howatt. All in a day's work Members of the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority and of the Maitland Watershed partnership gathered in Murray Scott’s back bush for a presentation in log pulling to encour­ age forestry management in the area. Dave Devris and Wyatt Nesbitt each brought two of their horses to demon­ strate how log pulling is done. A pair of very strong tongs is used to secure the 2000 lbs horses to the log which when it is pulled through the snow and mud can weigh up to 1,000 - 2,000 lbs.
