Ah the week of Joy. Another week
of festive fun and friendship as we
gather in the many aspects of our
lives.
A call, a card, an e-mail, a
gathering, a dinner or a party seem
to be a need to fill as we finish up
another calendar year. As the
seasons of Advent and Christmas
proceed, the many facets of our lives
come to surface and we need to
connect. Maybe it’s to check on the
health of others or maybe it’s to
check on the role this group plays in
our life just now.
Anyway we’re in the time of
gathering, so for goodness sake stay
healthy or stay home and wherever
you are be sure to wash your hands
of the Christmas traditions.
The Watson clan celebrated on
Saturday in a festive spirit as they
gathered for early Christmas and
Alma's birthday. Good lood (thanks
Beth), good time ol chat, laughter
and games. The weekends around
Christmas arc the best times for
families al a distance to gather so
everyone can relax and enjoy. Hope
yours is a good one.
The angels were singing on
Sunday night at St. Ambrose. The
church was filled with the
community all ready to sing and
listen. The area church choirs shared
their Christmas music and the
congregation just listened with
approval. The ministerial crew
initiates this endeavour of shared
music and the churches take turns
being the hosts. Good work
everyone.
Have fun.

and Bill Turnbull. We’re thinking all
kinds of nice thoughts about you and
we wish you peace and serenity as
you cope with your physical
problems at this time. These three
folks are an important part of life on
the hill. So as thoughts whip about
in this time of high emotions and
nostalgia we remember a really
good cook who even took the time
and effort to feed the neighbour’s
cats and even more important was
the prime supporter of the
neighbourhood kids as well as the
community at large. For years a man
with a metal detector came to the aid
of many who had lost their jewellery
and who is also the longest member
of Brussels United Church. Lloyd
was born, baptized and remains a
member in good standing of
Brussels United - pretty impressive
in our mobile society.
Good neighbour, good pigs and
Mr. Lions Club are the first of many
thoughts as Bill comes to mind.
The public school concert was a
success - a good program that
showed practice and effort by
students and teachers, good music,
some dancing, searches for parents
and grandparents in the audience,
lots of smiles and a feeling of
Christmas in the air. Thanks for one
