PAGE 19. __ Agriculture Brussels Livestock report Calves sell $5-$8 higher at Friday sale Total receipts for Brussels Livestock for the week ending Dec. 5 were 2,651 head of cattle, 685 lambs and goats. On Tuesday fed steers and heifers sold $1 to $2 higher. Cows traded steady. On Thursday the veal sold on an active trade with the market $2 to $5 lower. The Iambs sold at prices steady to last week. On Friday the calves sold $5 to $8 higher with the yearlings selling $2 to $3 higher. There were 555 steers on offer selling from $84 to $88 with sales to $114. Enoch Martin, Linwood, con­ signed one limousin steer weighing 1,400 lbs. which sold for $114. His overall offering of fifteen steers averaged 1,403 lbs. selling for an average price of $100.41. One black steer consigned by Joe Manders, Watford, weighed 1,260 lbs. which sold to Dominion Meats for $99. His overall offering of three steers aver­ aged 1,305 lbs. selling for an aver­ age price of $89.08. Walter Riddell. Big winners Lee and Lila Rintoul, RR2, Lucknow had the Grand Champion market lamb at the Royal Winter Fair this year. The lamb sold to Loblaws for $22 per pound. The Riritouls also showed the Grand Champion pen of three market lambs, which sold to Nicola Meats at $2 50 per pound. The couple had the Champion and Reserve market lamb last year, which was the first time since 1947 the same breeder won both.
