WDH Auxiliary meets in Terrace Room The Auxiliary to the Wingham and District Hospital met Monday, Nov. 24 in the Terrace Room of the hospital. President Brenda Anger welcomed everyone. This was followed by the Auxiliary prayer said in unison. Minutes were read by secretary Marlene Leedham. Corresponding secretary Margaret Mann read two thank you notes. Stephanie Jacques thanked the Auxiliary for the Auxiliary award that she had won at the F.E. Madill Commencement. A note from Nancy Brown, a hospital staff member, was received thanking the auxiliary members for staffing the desk for the recent flu clinic. Six hundred and seventy- three people in the community received the flu shot. The fall rummage sale netted $1,718.67. This year the Auxiliary has 11 teen volunteers working at the hospital. Rosemary LaRose teen volunteer co­ ordinator, asked that the Auxiliary purchase new polo shirts for the teens to wear while on duly. The Auxiliary agreed Io do so. Final plans were made for the poinsettia tea being held in the Tenner Room of the hospital Thursday, Nov. 27. All auxiliary members were asked to lake tickets io sell on a queen-size quilt in the leaf design made by Molly Perron of Tceswater and donated by Catherine Forsyth of Wingham to the Auxiliary. The second prize is a wall hanging, quilled colour wash (Hower basket) designed and donated by Brenda Anger. The draw will be made Dec. 20 al noon. All proceeds will go to the auxiliary projects. Anyone wishing a ticket may purchase one at the gift case at the hospital. Guest speaker for the meeting was Margrdt Comack, the CEO of the Listowel and Wingham hospitals, who thanked the Auxiliary for the work they do for the hospital.
