rehearsal is the morning of the
concert, so if you are unable to
attend in the evening come out and
see the dress rehearsal.
Huron County Christmas Bureau
is having its collection week Dec. 8 -
12 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. They will
be open to receive gifts of food, new
toys and new clothing. Let's give
what we can to make someone else's
Christmas more enjoyable.
Nov. 24 there was euchre at the
Legion Hall with eight tables
playing. Winners were: high lady,
Dorothy Carter, 73; high man,
Geraldine Bale. 69; low lady, Helen
Lee; low man. Darrel Wood; lone
hands, Bernice McClinchey, four
Joann MacDonald, four; door prize,
Alex Ncthery. share-the-wealth,
Dorothy Carter and Carol Daer.

to the Huron County Christmas
Bureau.

The first carol Come Thou Long
Expected Jesus was sung, followed
by the Lighting of the Advent
Candle. The Hakkers family, Fred,
Deb. Jonathon and Quinton lit the
first candle of Hope or the Mary
candle. The second carol was A
Candle is Burning.
The choir sang the anthem Go Out
in Joy.
Another carol. Oh, How Joyfully
was sung as the children gathered at
the front of the church. For the
children’s story. Rev. Eugen
Bannerman told them the story of
Superman, Christopher Reed, how
he had fallen off his horse and
severed his spinal cord, and how
Reed had faith that with God’s help
all things are possible. He told them
that just lately a miracle had
happened, that Christopher Reed
was breathing on his own without
the help of the machine and that
Reed believes that he will some day
walk again.
The dramatized lectionary reading
was from Luke I: 26-38. Those
taking part were Brandilynn and
Wyatt Bearss. Amelia Carter-Brown
and Jessica Sparling. The students
and teachers went downstairs

In spite of the bitter cold weather on Saturday, Memorial
Hall was warmed right up with a chili cookoff. Residents
brought in chili created from their own secret recipe for
others to try. To eat the chili, guests bought a $5 glass and
went to each table trying out the different flavours, spices
and textures of each individual chili creator. Matt DeJong
