occupying these seats after the
upcoming election.

took time during the meeting to
reflect on the term that this council
has served together and commend
Huron East mayor Lin Steffler for
her conviction and leadership. “This

into 2004 and increase the operating
budget by $9,500 council members

Central Huron requests
funds for Auburn Hall
Steve Campbell of the
Municipality of Central Huron sent
North Huron council-a letter asking
them if they could work funding to
offset the operation costs for Auburn
Hall into their budget. The request
was in the amount of $1,250.
It was decided at North Huron’s
Oct. 20 meeting more information
was needed before any commitment
would be made by council.

The Wingham Pentecostal
Church’s youth group is planning a
missions trip to Washington D.C. for
March Break 2004. They will join
Kid’s Konnection, an organization
that works with 3,000 children
weekly who live in housing projects
and on the streets.
The group will do programs for the
children, delivering prepared meals
to those living with HIV/AIDS,
working on some renovations and
cleaning of the ministry’s building.
Their request for the council is to
be granted permission to spend a
night sleeping on the streets of
Wingham. They hope to find some

members that, through his career, he

MacLellan said he “really
appreciated that although there were
many differences in opinion, the
mayor gave us all the same
opportunities.”
Steffler, who expressed no

sleep on the street.
“What will people driving by
think?” said MacGowan.
Council decided they needed more
information on the matter and it was
carried to the next meeting.

An Advance Poll shall be held in the Township of North Huron
Council Chambers, 274 Josephine Street on Saturday,
November 1, 2003 between the hours of 10:00 am and 5:00 pm.
Any person whose name is on the Voting List for the Wingham
Ward or who has been added by revision may vote for a
maximum of two (2) candidates. Elections shall not be held in
the Blyth Ward or East Wawanosh Ward as all candidates for
municipal office and school board trustee have been acclaimed.
The Township of North Huron Municipal Office shall be open for
the purpose of approving proxy applications on Saturday,
November 1, 2003 between the hours of 12 noon and 5:00 pm. A
person appointed a voting proxy shall complete an application
in the prescribed form including a statutory declaration that the
person is the person appointed as a voting proxy. A person
appointed a voting oroxy must be entitled to be an elector in the
municipality. A person appointed as a proxy may only act for one
person who is not a relative but can act as a proxy for any
number of relatives (spouses, parents, children, grandparents
and grandchildren). No application shall be approved by the
.Clerk after 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 10, 2003.
