Brussels girls lose elose one
The Brussels Bantam Girls faced
Glencoe on Saturday for their home
opener, which proved to be a very
evenly-matched game.
The first period was scoreless but
things started quickly in the second
with a goal from Glencoe. It didn’t
take Brussels long to tie it up with an
unassisted goal from Elli
Schimanski.
At the end of the second, Brussels

Rob Warwick earned the win in the
Crusader net.

The Blyth Juveniles have got their
season off to a solid start with two
wins and a tie.
In pre-season action Oct. 12 the
squad skated to victory over
Wingham with 30 shots on goal, over
the opposition’s 18.
Blyth struck early with a goal
minutes into the first period off the
stick of Scott Austin. The assist went
to Tyler Campbell, who shortly after
scored one of his own with help from
Kyle Stephenson.
While unable to add to the lead,
Blyth kept Wingham down for a 2-0

In the first game of the regular
season, the squad travelled to
Monkton to play Elma Logan. The

cancelled by a shot from Campbell,
set up by Loder.
Blyth held the lead going into the
third then increased it when
Campbell got his second of the game

and Craig Marks. It was a see-saw
battle from here with Listowel’s Lyn
Calquhoun scoring just over a
minute later, only to have
Stephenson respond in two min
utes.
With just over a minute left on the
clock, Martin lit the light for a
