Creating a place for family
Cozy
Whether by the quaint
Christmas tree, complete with
train set (above) or seated at
the breakfast table (right) the
home of Anne Elliott has been
decorated with the idea of
warmth and simplicity. Right: a
little touch of greenery on the
ornate entryway light fixture
and along the wooden
staircase seems the right
Victorian touch for the home.

family and friends is what inspires
Anne Elliott.
"I start decorating the first part of
December or last part of November.

mom. "We always had the tree up
early at home and I figure if you're
going to the work you might as well
be able to enjoy the finished product
for more than two weeks."
Elliott said she spends about five
days putting her stately Victorian in
its holiday splendour. "and then I'm
always tweaking things."
Some of her inspirations are her
own and some came from the store
her mother-in-law once owned. "She
had many nice things."
Elliott said she is also inspired by
past Christmases and magazines.
Her children too, daughter Heather,
now at university, and son Jeff, have
offered suggestions, she said.
"That's nice. We have always tried
to make it a family affair."
