Blyth Grade ls share their cooking tips
Christmas is such a
wonderful, time of year, full
of magic and mystery. With a
lot of questions about Santa,
his work and this special
time of year, The Citizen
decided the best place to find
the answers was by asking
the experts. Grade 1 students
from Blyth, Brussels, East
Wawanosh, Grey and Hullett
public schools gave us their
take on Santa and his life.

What's your favourite food at
Christmas and how do you make it?
"Christmas sugar cookies. You
have to put the dough in the oven
and cut out the cookies with cookie
makers. Then you have to put white
sprinkles on top."

"Candy canes. You melt the sugar
together with the strips and pour it
into molds. Then you have to wait
five days for it to be hard and then
you can eat it."

"Hamburger helper is my
favourite. You have to get the meat,
then you stir it up and let it stay for

them in a pot of water when it comes
out you can eat them, but first you
have to push them down and put salt

"Banana pie. You buy a crust thing
with silver around it. Put bananas,
sugar, milk and salt in a bowl and
mush it up and pour it into the crust
and put it into the oven. It takes four
minutes tobake."

you have to find the pieces for. You
need sugar and chocolate and mix it
all together and then put it in molds
until it hardens. It takes only two
minutes for it to harden."

makes little chocolate chip things
that have sugar and everything on it.
She uses ingredients, sugar,
chocolate chips and frosting.
Then puts it in the oven for 17

sprinkles to put on the dough. Put it
in the oven and ta-da, cookies! Then
my mom takes it out and I can eat
them. It takes a long, long time to

butter, apples and corn syrup. Mix it
all together and pour into the grey
dishes and put into the oven for 10
minutes."

"Pizza. Put all the stuff to make
the pizza taste good on top of the
dough and put it on a pan. Then add
some applesauce, pepperonni,
cheese and anchovies."

"Strawberry Christmas cake. Add
strawberries, flour, a little salt,
oranges, gummie drops and pour it
all into a bowl and mix. Put it in a
pan then cook it for two minutes and
eat."
