PAGE 7. Grey students present Christmas concert A number of area children from kindergarten to Grade 4 took part in the Grey Central school Christmas concert on Dec. 8. Rachel Hammermueller, Anthony Lichty, Lexi Smith, Tess Burnfield, Kayla Stewart, Chelsey Terpstra, Robin Rosentreter, Heidi Bachert, Hailey Bachert, Dalton Hamilton, Morgan Deitner, Ryan Baan, Meagan Sholdice, Daniel Lichty, Jordyn Sholdice, Leah Davidson, Jasmin Roth, Sean Mitchell, and The Cranbrook WMS meeting was held on Dec. 7 at the home of Eleanor Stevenson. It started at noon with a potluck lunch with Rev. Cathrine Campbell as a guest. Yvonne Knight, leader, opened the meeting reading a Christmas poem. She read the following articles, The Perfect Gifts for the Holidays, Cathrine Campbell was emcee when many people from the area attended the night of music in Melville Presbyterian Church on Sunday evening. Choirs from the Walton and Brussels United Churches, Brussels Mennonite Fellowship Church, St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Brussels Anglican Danica Zwep started the program with a piano prelude. Some Christmas carols were sung by the audience. The Grades 1 - 4 choir sang Give Us A Gift. Chelsey Terpstra, Mervin Brubacher, Samantha Fretz, Heidi Penelton, Tori Cardiff, Sarah Dillon and Meagan Sholdice were cast members in the play. Kindergarten A sang New Teeth For Christmas and kindergarten B sang All I Want For Christmas. Kelsey Smith and Edan Lighting Up A Farmer's Life, A Guide to Christmas Shopping, and Christmas dinner at the Kid's Card Table Island Has Its Moments. Donna Knight read the scripture Matthew I: 18-25 and Matthew 2: 1- 12. Brenda Perrie led in prayer. Eleanor Stevenson read the minutes of the November meeting Church, and Melville Presbyterian Church participated. Birthday wishes to Paige Keffer, Dec. 18 and Laura (Mrs. Brett Fischer), Dec. 21. Happy anniversary to Brent and Shari Evans on Dec. 18. Just a reminder to drivers to slow down in winter driving conditions. Rapson from Grade 4 had special parts. Grade 1 sang Love My Slippers, with Owen Hamilton playing the Dad and Dakota Adams the young girl. Grade 2 sang Rocks For Christmas with Heidi Bachert as Mom and Travis Brubacher the young boy. The Grade 2/3 class sang Christmas Spice with Jonathan Blake and Lucas Laidlaw playing the boys. Tori Cardiff, Sarah Dillon, and and Donna Knight gave the treasurer's report. The roll call was answered by giving a Christmas reading. Two Christmas hymns were sung and the meeting closed with the Mizpah Benediction. Then the Ladies' Aid meeting for March 7 was planned. Two vehicles were pulled out of fields on Newry Road within sight of McNabb Line on the weekend. The winners of the Huronlea craft show door prizes were. Dave McCutcheon, poinsettia; Dan Chesher, angel; Doris McCall, Christmas cactus; Cathrine Campbell, amaryllis bulb. float, Brussels Crusaders.
