Goals in this 8-1 outing were
scored by Carly Whitfield, with

Brussels tied the game early in the
second but Youngblut gave the
Bulldogs the leap again on a solid
rush. Sturzenegger assisted on the
goal.
The Dogs added two more in the
second from Sturzenegger • and
Youngblut.
Blyth had a 5-2 lead going into the
third. The squad played the period
mostly shorthanded as the refs gave
them five minor penalties. Blyth was
received a pass from forward,
Jessica Kuik. He had a breakaway,
but Mildmay was hot on his trail. He
took a hard shot and scored a goal
for Blyth.
Blyth's goalkeeper Courtney Bos
was really sharp and played an
outstanding game. Mildmay kept

Mitchell played well in the Blyth
net.
Coach Matt Anderson said, "The
team played very well but our
penalty killing needs to improve as
Brussels scored a couple of
powerplay goals."
Mildmay scored this goal in the last

Brussels
Tykes
take on
BCH
On Saturday, Dec. 4, the Brussels
Tykes took on BCH on minor
hockey day in Brussels.
In a game that quickly became a
battle of goaltenders, Colton
Hastings stood tall in the Brussels
goal as he made many fine saves.
The BCH goalie also stopped
numerous Brussels shots to keep the
game scoreless for the first two
periods.
Early in the third, BCH came in
on a breakaway only to be turned
aside by Hastings.
Ben Hruska skated into the BCH
zone and with the help of Nathan
Armstrong fed the puck out to
Mitch Kellington who was in the
slot to give Brussels the lead with
less than 25 seconds left in the
game. The final score was 1-0 for
Brussels.
With the win Brussels improves
their season record to 3-2-1.
This coming Saturday the Tykes
travel to Zurich to play at 3 p.m.
