Cranbrook community extends sympathy
NEWS
FROM CRANBROOK
Our sympathy is extended to the
family of the late Florence Ward. Flo
passed away on Sunday in
Kitchener. She was the mother of
Peggy (Mrs. John) Wiens of
Cranbrook and the grandmother of
Tammy and John.
Members of Cranbrook
Presbyterian Church who didn't get
to the Monkton house tours on
Saturday visited with Rev..Theresa
McDonald-Lee and Jonathan on
Sunday. They couldn't miss getting
some of his homemade candy and
seeing all the work that Theresa and
Jonathan had done in the manse.
Rev. Theresa's sister Stephanie
from the Glencoe Presbyterian
Church shared what she learned
while visiting the Foodgrains Bank
projects in Central America with the
Presbyterian World Service and
Development section of the church.
Her thoughts were printed on the
First Sunday of Advent literature
used by the church, to be read before
lighting the "Hope" candle.
Before the children's story on
Sunday in Cranbrook Presbyterian
Church Sean and Marie Mitchell
played a duet on the piano. Emily
and Sarah Mitchell played solos on
the piano and Sean also had a violin
solo.
Many area ladies were busy with

Congratulations to all those who
took part in the Brussels Santa Claus
parade on Saturday. Many area
residents said it was the best. Santa
parade they have seen in Brussels.
Barb and Joe Terpstra were
pleased with the behaviour of their
ponies in the parade. It was the first
one for them and they won first prize
for the animal section of the parade.
It was an exciting time for their
children too.
Leslie and Yvonne Knight were at
the Sanderson Centre in Brantford
on Thursday for a tour of the theatre,
roast beef dinner and to see Forever
Plaid. You could still see much
evidence of the fire that was next
door to the theatre a few weeks ago.
The Centre is still having problems
with its fire alarm system and a false
alarm went off while they were
there.
The Grey Central school concert
will be on Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. The
kindergarten to Grade 4 classes will
be performing. Plan to attend to
support the children in the area.
