Danny Boyce of Goderich won the
quilt draw held by the Blyth Legion
Auxiliary. The ticket was drawn at the
annual meeting of the Huron Pioneer
Thresher's Friday night.
Euchre results for Nov. 29 will be

Judges pay just $1 to get a taste

Rev. Bannerman read the gospel
from Mark 9: 33-37. The responsive
Psalm 122 was led by Stephanie
Root with the choir singing the
refrain.
Rev. Bannerman's message to the
adults was, Who Wants To Be the
Greatest.
More than .50 seniors attended a
Christmas dinner, beautifully catered
by the Legion Auxiliary who also
provided a gift for each person
attending. Kay Hesselwood and
Bernice Pierce, representing the
auxiliary, gave out the gifts.
A reading about the symbolic
meaning of the original candy cane
was given by Jean Plaetzer. Emily
Phillips. guest speaker, was
introduced by Thelma Wilson. Emily
spoke of Christmas traditions in her
family and of ways to deal with
stress.
Janis Vodden presented a review of
Street Names of Blyth by Eugen
Bannerman.
Carol singing was led by Elva
Brown and Janis.
Guests were invited to become
members of the Seniors' Club.

A worthy cause
Anne Haley of the Huron County Health Unit's cancer
program, left, accepts a cheque in the amount of $480 from
Luann Taylor of Luann's Country Flowers. The money was
raised through the business's October carnation sales for
the Breast Cancer Screening Program at Alexandra Marine
and General Hospital in Goderich. Taylor, a breast cancer
survivor plans to involve flower shops across the county in
