Graduation celebrates a major accomplishment
By Jenna Roy
Good evening. Welcome to
Hullett Central Public School's
Graduation Ceremonies of 2004. It
is an honour to be speaking to
you on behalf of this year's
class. Thank you for sharing
this special night with us.
Tonight we celebrate a
major" accomplishment in
our lives, our public school
graduation. As I look at each
of us as graduates, I say loud-
ly "We did it!" We've looked
forward to this, celebration for a
very long time and it's a dream
come true. It has taken a lot of hard
work to reach this goal and we've
learned so much, not only about
ourselves, but also of this ever-
changing world.
There are so many wonderful
memories of our days here at this
school. As we celebrate, we give
thanks to all those who have helped
• us through this journey and achieve
this goal.
This journey started out 10 years
ago for those who were in junior
kindergarten and nine years for the
rest of us. It seems like only yester-
day when we took our first few steps
into the school. eager to meet new
friends and learn new things. We
were welcomed lovingly by Mrs.
Kemp into senior kindergarten.
Those were the days, birthday cup-
cake celebrations, show and tell, and
.of course ... naptime. We won't for-
get that first year.
Ms Wiese. Mrs. Bosman and Mr.
Sanders guided us through our pri-
mary years teaching many valuable

lessons. Remember the snuggle up
and read program, the pioneer unit
and the end of the year field trip to
Mrs. Bosman's house? Laughing
and giggling, most of us spent
more time in the creek wet,
than dry.
As we entered the senior
side, we• accepted the
responsibilities and chal-
lenges that came with it.
New skills were learned
from big buddies, peace-
keeping and peer mediation.
Let's not forget those chal-
lenging math minute drills and
those February speeches. Our senior-
side teachers, Mr. Livermore, Mrs.
Pickell, Miss Uhler; Mme. Rae, Mr.
Caldwell, Mrs. Gilroy and Mme.
Turcotte have all played a signifi-
cant role in our growth and develop-
ment as students.
Mr. Drennan has been at our side
this year teaching Grade-8. His hard
work. patience and understanding
have helped us to prepare for high
school. He has motivated and
encouraged us to do the best that we
can. His job has probably been the
most difficult.
Where would our school be with-
out music? Miss Wyatt's dedication
and enthusiasm given, to the band
and vocal programs is very much
appreciated. We share many special
memories of our winter and spring
concerts. Those familiar words
"practise, practise, practise" will
serve us well as we enter high
school.

thanks go to Mr. Drennan, Mrs.
Gilroy, Mr. Caldwell, Mme.
Turcotte and Mrs. Pickell for their
leadership.
Other people to thank include
Mrs. Webster for her extra guidance,
Mrs. Stauttener for her library and
computer skills and Mr. Bosman for
sharing his sense of pride in keeping
our school clean. We are also grate-
ful for the -many dedicated volun-
teers who give their time and talent
to help at our school.

derful smile and encouraging words.
Going to the office was always an
enjoyable time. It will be hard to say
goodbye to our principal, Mrs.
Tebbutt. She always believed in our
abilities and guided us in the right
direction.
Finally, we give thanks to our par-
ents for their unconditional love and
support. They have been with us
from the very beginning and they
have helped us to be who we are
today. They have always stood by us
through our ups and downs.
As we graduate tonight, I'm sure
we all have mixed emotions.
Sadness for what we leave behind
and the difficult goodbyes that we
face. For high school, some of us
head off to CHSS, others to Q'DCI
and a few to St. Anne's.
Yet, we are also excited about the
journey that lies ahead. Our next few
years will be filled with new oppor-
tunities, responsibilities and chal-
lenges that we will face with knowl-
edge and confidence. There will be
many more dreams to follow and
goals to achieve.
I take this opportunity to thank my
fellow classmates for the many spe-
cial and fun times that we shared.
We will cherish our friendships and
our memories.
Congratulations on your hard
work throughout these years and
best wishes on a happy and success-
ful future. As this anonymous author
wrote:
"Graduation is a time to listen to
your heart,
Follow your dreams,
Reach for the stars...
And know that you can do
Anything!"
And if you follow your dreams,
they will always lead you in the right
direction.
Ladies and gentlemen, may I pres-
ent, the graduation class of 2004.
