Lancers Take
First Point
Of The Season
The Lancers Intermediate Hock-
ey team went to Hanover Decem-
ber 4 with high hopes of coming
home with their first points of the
season but were foiled again. The
' 'game ended . up with Hanover
winning 7-4. Lucknow's goals went
to Jim Farrish from Doug Steven-
son; Jim Murray from Art Stanley
and Dave MacKinnoni Jim Murray
from Art Stanley and Dave
MacKinnon and Pete Chisholm
Unassisted.
Sunday, December .7, Hanover
visited Lucknow and the game
ended in a 6-6 tie. With Hanover
back, in town for a return' match it
looked .like the boys left it too late
for taking fire after tWo periods of
hard hitting hockey with frequent
visits to:the penalty box. When all
the smoke had cleared to start the
3rd period, the score was 6-2 in
Hanover's favour. .
With less than two minutes gone
in the third period, ,Jim Murray
took a picture pass, from ' Art
Stanley and John Emberlin to put
him in the clear and making no
mistake gOt the game rolling with a
:Ri01*Midget.

Lucknow Tecim'
,LucknOw Midget hockey team
lost a close contest with. Ripley in
Lucknow Tuesday night of last
week. Larry Farrell scored on a
pass from Elliott to put Ripley
ahead 1-0. Lticknow tied the score
on a goal by Eric Cayley from Mark
Frayne and Tom Sinneft before the
end of the period.
Lucknow scored early in the
second period on a goal by Steve
Hamilton, assisted by ROn Johnson
and on an unassisted goal by Pat
Murray.. Chris McGarvey and
Larry . Farrell teamed up at 4.29 to
put Ripley back in the game with
the 'period ending with tueknow
ahead 3-2.
Ripley's Stanley. , assisted by
McGarvey and Farrell tied the
gaine at 5.15 of the third period.
Lucknow replied two minutes later
as Mark .Frayne picked up a pass
from Pat Murray and put it behind
Rob Sutton in the Ripley net..
Farrell- scored for Ripley on a' pass
from Stanley and Stanley counted
on a pass from Regier to finish the
Scoring with Ripley ahead 5-4.
••This game was fast and clean
with only 4 minor penalties called,
two to each team, none resulting in
power play goals.

On Thursday night Lucknow
played an exhibition game in
Ripley during time made available

The game was a 'complete turn
around from Tuesday nights en-
counter with Ripley skating all over
Lucknow to a 6-2 victory.
Ripley opened the scoring in the
first period with Lucknow counting
twice before Ripley tied it up 2 all
by the end of the period. Ripley
scored once in the second period
and three times in the third as they
took • advantage .of some costly
Lucknov,. mistakes.
Mark Stanley was Ripley's big
gun chalking up 3 goals and 2
assists; Chris McGarvey had 1
goal and 2 assists; - Mike Pollock
one goal and 1 assist; Larry Farrell
2 assists; Keith Pollock. 1 goal and
Rick Clampitt and, 'Rob Lowry each
assisted once.
LoCknoW's marksmen were
Grant Gilchrist from Steve Hamil-
ton and Ron Johnson and Alex Irvin
from Torn O'Keefe and Rick
Conley.
House League
Hockey Results
On Saturday, December 6th, in
the first game, the BruinS edged
the Rangers 4 to 3. Steven Frayne
netted 2 goals for the Bruins, with
singles going to Carl Courtney and
Kevin Machan. Brian Elphick, Jim
Van Osch and Morris Van Osch
replied for the Rangers.
In the second game, the Canad-
iens defeated the Reg Wings 5 to 3. ,
John Boyle and Bernie Burgsma
led the attack for the Canadiens
with a pair each. Fred Martin
potted the other goal. Tim
Edisbury, David Edisbury and
Mark Haldenby dented the twine
for the' Red Wings.
In the third game, the Black
Hawks defeated the Leafs 4 to 2.
Terry Brown with 2, David
Hawkins and David Atkinson
registered goals for the Black
Hawks. Troy Ritchie and Meikel
Becker notched singles for the
Leafs.

Jim Murray scored again on a
heady backboard rebound from Art
Stanley and Dave MacKinnon to
put the boys right back in the
game. With only 'a minute left
coach. Fred Edwards pulled the
goalie who,had played a real steady
gaMe and put Ross Forster out to
try for the tie. The boys really
being tough in the opposition end,
made the tie with only 55 seconds
left with Ross Forster scoring. The
boys got a faceoff with only 3 sec-
onds left. They made an exciting
finish when the goalie came to the
bench for a try for the win. Harvey
Livingston went for afgood shot af-
ter the.. draw and broke his stick.
The puck went down the ice but
missed the net as the bell rang.
This is the Lancer's first point
and the way they opened up the
third period made the coach smile.
The next home game on Sunday
night will be against Goderieh.

Flea Hockey
On November 22, Lucknow Fleas
played - the Belgrave Tykes. The
score was tied 44. Scoring for
Lucknow were Grant 'Murray 3
goals and 1 assist, Todd Ritchie 1
goal and 1 assist,. Chris
Brian . De Groote and Steve
Hamilton, 1 assist each.
On Saturday, November 29, the
Lucknow Fleas played Blyth Tykes
and had their first win of the
season. The score was 6 to 4 for
Lucknow.
" Goal scorers -for Lucknow were
Grant Murray 3; Todd Ritchie 1 and
1 assist; Robert Cayley 1; Tommy ,
Gilmore 1; with assists going to"
Chris Irwin and Donald Murray,
Danny Gilchrist, John D. MacKen-
zie and Steven Hamilton, each one.
Brian De Groote played in goal.
On Thursday, December 4,
Lucknow Fleas travelled to Ripley
and came out cin the top, end of the
score 9 to 7.
Goal scorers were Todd Ritchie 41
goals and 2 assists; Grant Murray,
4 goals and 4 assists; Alex West. 1
goal; J. D. MacKenzie, Mike
Murray, Steve Hamilton, Tommie
Gilmore, one assist each.
Todd Scharbach played a steady
game in goal.
• On Saturday, December 6,

and came up on' top 3 to 1. Grant
Murray scored' 2 goals and Alex
West one goal with assists going to,
Todd Ritchie 2; Sean dulleton and
