Newlyweds Living In Lucknow
A pretty autumn wedding took
place on Saturday, September 27 at
four o'clock at the Lucknow
Christian Reformed Church, when
Louis Jurjens, son of Mr: and Mrs..
Henry Jurjens of R. R. 7 Luclmow
and Joy Carol Emberlin, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Emberlin of
Lucknow, were married in a double
ring ceremony. The church was
lovely with baskets of autumn
flowers and roses, silver candel-
abra entwined with red roses. Rev.
L. VanStaalduinen was assisted by
Rev. Noble of Lucknow Presbyter-
ian Church.
The bride entered the church on
the arm of her father, who gave her
in marriage. Her gown was of
white silk, cut on Grecian lines with

roses, long tapered sleeves, a train
forming at the shoulders. Her
three-tiered veil was held in place
with a cap of white lace embroider-
ed in pearls.. She carried a bouquet
of red roses and white carnations.
- Miss Cathy Jamieson of Luck-
now, friend of the bride, was maid
of honour in a floor-length gown of
gold velvet with sweetheart neck-
line and puffed sleeves. She
carried a bouquet of white, yellow
and orange tinted mums.
Joanne Jurjens, sister-in-law of
the groom, and Mary Emberlin,
sister of the bride, were' brides-
maids in green velvet' dresses
styled identical to the maid, of
honour and carried identical .bou-

Kirk Emberlin, nephew of
bride of Hamilton, was ring bearer.
He wore a tux in brown, the same
as the groom and attendants. He
carried the. rings on a white silk
heart-shaped pillow with white
velvet streamers.
0 Groomsman was John Jurjens,
twin brother of the groom and
Henry and Gerry, also brothers,
were ushers. Mrs. Harry Bargsma
was organist.
Receiving after the ceremony
was the bride's mother in a
floor-length goWn of rust crepe,
with a sheer jacket of autumn
shades, with a gOlden rose corsage.
The groom's mother wore a
floor-length gown of black figured
crepe with pink bodice and wore a
corsage of tinted pink roses.
The wedding •supper for 100
guests was at Brookside School.
Ken Gardner, brother-in-law of the
bride, was master of ceremonies.
Dancing followed to end the day..
The young couple left for a few
days honeying:ion. The bride wore a
rust pant suit. On their return they
will reside on Campbell Street,
Lucknow. The groom is employed
at the Co-op,
Prior to the wedding the Co-op
staff had a party and presented
them with a lazy boy chair and a
pair of lamps. The ladies of the
Chrisitan Reformed Church had a
shower for the bride, as did Cathy
Jamieson for former school friends
and Betty and Debbie Emberlin
had one for neighbours on the hill.
BROWNIE
NEWS
The 1st Lucknow Brownie Pack
opened their meeting on Tuesday,
October 21st with Packie conduct-
ing a gatne "One Of Us Has Gone
Away".
Sharon Struthers was Fairy
Queen and she set up the Toadstool
for Brownie Ring. The Brownies
hopped their Brownie Gold and
Brown Owl did inspection to see if
everyone had their tie tied in a reef
knot. A new Tweenie, Jackie
Rathwell, joined the Pack.
Everyone joined together in the
Brownie Prayer.
The Pack then went to craft
corner where Brown Owl introduc-
ed Mrs. McDonagh as she had
come to' the meeting to help with
the Hallowe'en craft. • . Each
Brownie had an interesting Hal-
lowe'en picture to take home when
crafts were finished.
During work period Brown Owl
had Golden Ladder Brownies
working at a parcel for mailing.
Tawny. Owl worked with the
Tweenies and Donal& Thompson.
Heather Maclntyre, Dianne Wilson
and Mae Raynard passed their test
for the Brownie Promise. Mae and
Heather also passed their test for
brushing and combing their- hair
plus braiding. Mary Brooks ran an
errand for Brown Owl. Packie had
games "Human Ladders" and
"Earth,\ Water, Air and Fires".
At Pow Wow, Brown Owl
reminded everyone that the next
meeting was the Hallowe'en Party.
Each Brownie is to try and come in
costume and bring a friend. Two
parcels were tossed around the
circle and Helen MacIntyre and
Luanne MacLeod passed their test
for getting a parcel ready for
mailing. •
The meeting closed with the
Squeeze and Taps.
