On October 14th, the Town and
Country Club had a pot-luck
supper for their regular meeting.
About one hundred members sat
down for supper.. They were
entertained with music by The
Russel Swan family during the
meal and in the evening. Everyone
reported a very good time.

Mr. and Mrs. Jack McDonagh
recently spent about 3% weeks in
• 'England and some . European'
countries. They flew to Zurich,
Switzerland where they were met
by their son. Roddy who toured
them by car 'through parts of
Switzerland, .Bavaria, Austria and
Italy. They took the train through
France and the .boat to England.
While in London, England Jack and
Norma visited' with John Cleland of
Lucknow. Both John and Roddy
have been touring in Europe while
employed there. At present they
are both employed in London;
England.
THAT
Wes Oswald of Forest, repres-
enting the Ontario Minor Hockey
Association at the opening of the
Ripley-Huron Recreation Complex
on Saturday, announced that the
Swiss Midget Hockey Team would
be in Ripley for a game on
December 27th as part of their
tour. • 'Ice making in the new
complex is underway this week.
THAT
Indian summer made an appear-
ance the first part of last week as
Harvey Kilpatrick and Leo Huber,
while working along the edge of the
former's bush, came across some
clumps of ripe raspbetries which
were just as good as the first crop.
West Wawanosh
Council Minutes
West Wawanosh Township
Council met for the regular October
meeting in the Township Garage on
Tuesday, evening, October 7th,
with all members present and
Reeve Lyons presiding. The
minutes of the September meeting
were read and adopted on motion
of Councillors Hickey and Cran-
ston.
A. J. Sherwood of Dungannon'
attended the meeting and request-
ed a written , authorization from
Council to install a water system for
the new residential development in
Dungannon, along the side of the
Township road. The Clerk was
directed to draw up a document for
signatures by the Township and
Mr. Sherwood.
Wm. Beyersbergen questoned
Council about a road culert which
he feels is ineffettive. He also
mentioned concern about his farm
which borders 'the property .along

Wes. Nivins attended the meet-
ing to place his objections before
Council to certain changes which
are proposed on the Kirk Municipal
Drain Repair and Improvement.
On a motion 'by Councillors
Foran and Hickey, the Clerk was
authorized to advertise for tenders
on the Gaunt Municipal Drain, in
the London Free Press for two
consecutive Saturdays.
The Clerk was instructed by
Council to write Frank Cowan
Company to have the insurance
coverage on road °equipment in-
creased, due to rising labour and
repair costs.
The Reeve informed Council of
the receipt of $10,000.00, the first
'instalment of the grant for the
-Ontario Home Renewal Program.
This grant is available to loan to
eligible home owners for repairs
necessary to better the condition of
their homes. The Clerk has details
and application forms for home
owner/occupants to participate in
this program.
A motion by Councillors Cran-
ston and Stothers authorized the
Reeve and Clerk to _apply for the
Interim Subsidy On 1975 road
expenditures.
The road accounts were ordered
paid on motion by Councillors
Hickey and Cranston.
