At noon last Wednesday, Octob-
er 8 Mrs. Ernie Pollock passed
away in Kincardine and District
Hospital where, she had been taken
about two hotirs earlier, by ambu-
lance. Checking Wednesday
morning her son Clarence found his
Mother unconscious from an appar-
ent coronary attack ,and he tailed
help. The funeral service was '
conducted by Rev. Cecil -Carnochan
of St. Andrew's United Church last
Saturday afternoon at the McLen-
nan-McCreath Funeral Home with
interment in Ripley Cimetery.
Mrs. Ernie Pollock, known to her
friends and neighbours as Grand-
ma Pollock, was an active person in
the Ripley community and will .be
missed here.

It was so nice to get out from, the
seciietary's office and see a fall fair
Frank and Rita Zipfel, with
daughters Priscilla, Debbie and
Shandu of • Ripley, spent the
Thanksgiving week end with their
friend, former Ripleyite Miss
Donalda MacKinnon of Detroit.
Home from Kincardine and
District Hospital is Gordon Scott
after several weeks treatment
there. Everyone is glad to see Gord
back to Ripley again. '

this past week is Ardill Mason of
Ripley.
A note from, former principal of
Ripley Public School and for years
now iii the same position at
Dorchester, Stewart MacDonald
states that he is back home after a
stay in Victoria Hogpital in London.

It is reported that former
Ripleyite Mrs. Gwen Thuell of
Gowanstown is in. St. Joseph's
Hospital in London. Gwen recently
underwent surgery in St. Jog's.
Her many Ripley friends wish her a
speedy recovery.

On Tuesday, September 30,—Mr.
and. Mrs. Clarke Coiling moved
from Detroit to the village of
Lurgan at the mouth, of the Pine
River at the foot of the fourth
concession in Huron Township.
Clarke, son of Mr. and Mrs. John
getting Coiling, of Ripley, spent his early
years at the family farm two blocks
south of Ripley on the fifteenth at
the corner of the fourth. , After
attending high school in Ripley
Clarke went to Detroit where he
had been employed since that time.
They moved to the former Craw-
ford, or the Harold Brooks house in
Lurgan, which they purchased back
in 1962
as a spectator for a change,
Teeswater had a very nice fall fair
last Saturday. The mid morning
shower cleared away. The crowds
gathered. The biggest and best
parade came up the hill and into
the grounds. Up there riding on
the big yellow bulldozer on the
Inglis float was Ross Willets. They
had a nice display in the arena, a
good midway, a big livestock show
as usual and a large crowd
