the Province has a Home EpOn0111-
ist who is responsible for the
programs in her area. A big part
of her work is. with 4-H Home-
making Club Leaders and Mem-
'. hers -- training leaders and help-
ing the clubs through the project
to the Achievement Days which
are the• "Graduation Exercises of
4-H Work." A number of ladies' projects
are also, organized by the local
Home Economist. Any group may
send two leaders to, the Senior
Training Schools and they return
to, their group. to pass the inform-
ation on. The topics for Senior
Training Schools range from foods
and nutrition to sewing to various
crafts and hobbies, with one Sen-
ior Training School a year. 'A few
short courses are also offered by.
the Ontario Ministry of Agricul-
ture and Food. If there are 15 to
20 ladies in your area who are in-
terested in one of the short
courses, one of the Home Econ-
omists from our head office in
Toronto, will come and do the
course usually 1 or 2 days. Food
Forums are another feature of
our program. These deal' with
various foods and consist of in-
formation and cooking demon-
strationa organized around a spec-
ific theme such. as "More about
Nutrition" and given in an evening
session, usually in the early spring
— this year April.
Each County also has individual
programs, in our case, Ladies'
Day Program at Grey-Bruce.
Farmers! Week in Hanover in
January.
Also your local OMAF Home
Economist is available to speak
to groups on topics within her
field, as long as the date is such
that she is free at the time. She
is also prepared to help you with
consumer related questions. If
she cannot answer them herself,
she has a number of resources On
which she can call.
Many publications are available •
free from OMAF. Some examples
-- "Let's Cook It Right", "Your
Money's Worth of Food", wIlps on
Sewing with ICnits", etc. etc.

Dear Sir,
I would very much appreciate it if
you could find room in your paper
for this message. i‘
have recently begun some
research on my family' tree and I
am looking for connections to it.
According to my information, there
were three Dewar ,brothers who
emigrated from Glenelg, Scotland
to Canada. Donald, Dewar, my
great-grandfather, settled in Glen-
garry County in 1832. His brother
Malcolm also settled in Glengarry
and a third brother (name un-
known) is thought to have gone to
Bruce County.
I would be .very interested in
hearing from anyone with a Dewar
surname or anyone who 'has any
information about Dewars who may
have lived in Bruce. I would also
appreciate being put in, touch with
any historical or genealogical
societies which may exist in the
area.

The Clinton -Christian Reform-
ed Church held their 'regular song
service Sunday evening led by Dick
Roorda,. Miss Jill Wheatley sang a
solo accompanied -at the piano by
MrS. Henderson.
William Farnsworth was wel-
comed to the Home at Monday
afternoon's activities and enter-
tained the residents with violin
selections accompanied by Mrs.
, Elsie Henderson. Mrs. Mary
Broadfoot, Frank forest and Norm-
an Speir provided the old tyme
music playing several of the old
dance tunes such as Rye Waltz,
French Minuet, Waltz Country,
etc.
Pictures of the Centennial par-
ade was the theme for the "Family
Night" program. Dr. Ken Wood of
Clinton showed a twenty minute
film strip and gave a very
interesting commentary of the 180
entries. Coloured slides taken by
Mrs. Willa Taylor were shown and
musical numbers were provided by
William and Melvin Farnsworth
accompanied by Mrs. Henderson.
Dr. Woods played several piano
selections and accompanied for a
sing-a-long. Miss Bertha . Diehl
thanked all those responsible for
the program on behalf of the
residents.
By the way, we-are making plans
for the corning year's programs and
if you or your group could help as
volunteers or 'with entertainment,
we would appreciate hearing from,
you.
