LEARN FIRE BUILDING
Fourteen girls attended the
regular meeting of the Lucknow
Girl Guides on Thursday evening
as well as Captain Mrs. Don
Thompson, Lieutenants Mrs. Jim
Morrison and Mrs. Dan. Bellmore
and Ettabelle MacDonald who
received her Canada Cord in May
and is now a Company Leader. •
The second Guide LaW "A Guide
is loyal" and a new whistle and
hand signal were reviewed.
Mrs. Morrison worked with the
tenderfoot girls teaching them their
promise, sign, handshake and good
turn. Mrs. Bellmore and the patrol
leaders helped some girls to learn
compass points. Ettabelle Mac-
Donald taught the reef knot to
other girls.
Mrs. Jack McKim taught the
girls how to build a fire and the
necessary precautions that should
be taken when using fires. Every
girl is to make a fuzz stick for next
meeting. A fuzz stick is one of the
things used to make a fire start
more easily. Edith Greer thanked
Mrs. McKim for her information.
The Guides . were reminded to
bring their registration money and
calendar money next week if they
had not already done so. Lori
McKim and Marian Raynard
attended Patrol Leader Training is
the patrol leaders were unable to
go as they were all participating in
the Walkathon. The Training was
held Saturday in Howick Central
School. Mrs. Bellmore and Mrs.
Thompson also attended.
A hike will be held next week if
weather permits.
The meeting closed with a short
campfire.

at the Lucknow Legion Hall.
The bride's mother wore a lOng
2-piece ensemble in romance blue
polyester fortrel with floor-length
coat of imported Frenth lace and
bodice of matching lace. The front
of coat was of mafehing polyester
fortrel. She wore a cream and
mauve cymbidium orchid corsage.
The, groom's mother wore a yellow
flowered' sheer over taffeta floor-
length gown and a cream and
brown cymbidium orchid corsage.
For travelling to Niagara falls
the bride wore a Paris Star mottled
blue and white pant suit with
carnation corsage.
The couple will live at 103
Newgate Street, Goderich, 'where
the groom is employed;at Dominion
Roads.
The bride's paternal grand-
mother. Mrs. Vere 'Cunningham,
Goderich, was gueSt of honour at
the wedding. After the ceremony
the wedding party went to the
bride's maternal grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Reed of
Lucknow for family" photos.

The marriage of Jeanne. Roberta
Reid, daughter of Mr: and Mrs.
Ford Cunningham, Lucknovv, and
George Dcinald Moffat, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Lloyd Moffat, Lucknow,
'took' place on Saturday, August
30th at four o'clock in 'the Lucknow
Presbyterian Church.
The altar was decorated with
large vases of gladioli and fern, the
entrance of the church .was
decorated with asters, and snap-
dragons and on the communion
tables, roses and candelabra : with
white lighted candles. Pews were
decorated with white bows and
Streamers.
Rev. Glenn Noble officiated .at
the double ring ceremony.
Mrs. Nancy Brown of Lucknow,
as 'soloist, sang "More" and
"We've Only Just Begun" before
the ceremony and "Walk Hd in
Hand" and "Wedding Pryer"
during the signing of the register.
Mrs. Donalda Scott of Lucknow was
organist.
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride chose an elegant gown in
polyester sheer as illustrated in
modern bride. The bodice was
V-shaped down the front and
waistline with mandarin neckline.
I'm' ported alcon lace was gathered
around neckline, down front of
skirt, around the hem, also around
bottom of sleeves.' A tiny gathered
frill was around neckline, down
both sides of , dress front, and down
sleeves with tiny covered buttons to
mid elbow: She wore a Juliet cap
with long cathedral train in
matching lac0. The bride carried
a bouquet of yellow daisies, white,
miniature carnations, blue statice
and • baby's breath. Her only
jewellery was diamond ear studs,
the item borrowed from her
mother.
Maid of honour was Miss. Mary
Stanley of LucknoW, friend of the
'bride. Bridesmaids were Mrs.
Judy Austin of Goderich, sister of
the bride; Mrs. Sharon Collins of
London, sister of the groom, and
Miss Wendy England, Lucknow,
friend of the bride.
The bride's. attendants were all
similarly dressed in halter 'style
gowns of lime green polyester with
dark emerald green velvet hooded
jackets.. They carried wicker
baskets of dark bronze daisies,
yellow daisies and gold wheat.
Groomsman was Wayne Pritchr
and of Goderich, friend of the
groom. Ushers were Ken Reid and
Ray Cunningham, brothers of the
bride and Donald Mann, friend of
the groom.
The groom and his attendants all
wore brown tuxedos with dark
brown velvet lapels and tinted
