discussed and prime hearing

ween 11:30 and 12 noon; and
between 5 : 30 and 6 p. in.
Discussion followed on the
formation of Youth Pro Life
Groups (up to age 25) and the
formation of new pro life
groups in surrounding towns or
if branches of the main body be
formed.
Adrian Keet, Chairman of the
Wingham Branch of the
Alliance for Life announced
that plans are being made for a •
dance to be held in the
Wingham Armory on Saturday,
October 25.
He also announced that a
public hearing on Violence will
be held at the F.E. Madill
Secondary'School, Wingham on
Wednesday, December 3.
Members of the Commission
are Judy LaMarsh, Judge
Lucien Beaulieu and Scott
Young. The'commission invited
briefs to be sent to the Royal
COmmission on. Violence in the
Commissions Industry, 151

The October meeting of the
Purple Grove Women's Institute
was held in the Community Centre
on Wednesday evening: Mrs.
Harvey Needham presided over the
meeting, which opened with the
Ode and the Mary Stewart Collect
repeated in unison. Mrs. Norval
Ontario to study whether
people are harmed by the in-
creasing exploitation of
violence in movies, on
television, radio, newspapers,
books, etc. A brief will be sent
by the Wingham branch.
Mrs. Margot Elston Was WI Speaker
Stanley read-the scripture. Roll call
was "Bring an old school book and
recall an interesting fact". Many
of the old memory verses were
recited.
Mrs. Francis Boyle' and Mrs.
'Harvey Needham were appointed
delegates to the Rally beinfheld in
Whitechurch on October 16:
Education convener, Mrs. Mor-
ley Scott, was in charge of the
program and had everyone join in
the singing 'of School Days. Mrs.
George Emerson gavei a reading,
"The First Day of School".'
Mrs. Scott introduced the guest
speaker for the evening, Mrs.
Margot Elston, who resides in
Kincardine and is the treasurer for
the local association for the
mentally retarded. Mrs. Elston
gave a very interesting' and
informative talk on how the
association was started and the
great work which4s now being done
for these chilareirby being ablelo
attend stliOol and summer camps.
Mrs. Don Reid thanked Mrs.
Elston.
The, meeting closed with the
Queen and the Institute Grace.
Mrs. Don Gillies, 'Mrs. Victor
Gawky and Mrs.. Howard Thomp-
son provided the lunch.
